What's the 2B situation in Los Angeles. Was Rojas supposed to be the starter there with Lux at short? Right now the depth chart on mlb.com has Miguel Vargas who has only played there in 28 games in the minors. That doesn't seem ideal no matter how well he hits.

Chris Taylor's started 106 games at 2B and 217 at SS so in theory he's probably a good option to replace one of those spots.

Early word is Adam Ottovino will serve as closer for the Mets this year.

DJ Stewart hit for the cycle today for the Mets against the Cardinals in their spring training game. First time I ever recall a cycle in a Spring game.

Rhys Hoskins went down with a knee injury, a good time to note I never said anything bad about Edwin Diaz. (I always get tripped up and want to call him Einar Diaz.)

I thought I would hate the pitch clock. I certainly hate the IDEA of a pitch clock, but this is the best change MLB has made in years. The amount of useless dead time of nothing in the game had spiraled completely out of control.
And people saying the pitch count shouldn't apply in the ninth inning...no. Jonathan Papelbon was a Phillie for four years. I assure you that you do not want that.

The Pirates have a much younger team, easier to see Cruz and Hayes take a step forward than most anyone on the Reds' roster.

I could see a scenario where the Pittsburgh end up having a sneakily competent season. Not like playoff contenders but 75-80 wins.

I don’t see any scenario where the Reds win more than 70 games. I’d love to be proven wrong and @Dandy quoting this post to make me look like a fool in October.

I will quote it and make you look like a fool right now instead of all the way in October. You see, your fly is unzipped.
