Holmgren's would be/could be dynasty ends with a thud as the refs blow a call and give TO a chance to change NFL history.
Interesting to ponder what could have been had Wolf and Holmgren been able to share glory. Even Wolf conceding that he would step down in 2001 or something might have been enough to temper Mike's desires.
- Packer history changes then as who knows if Packer All time leading rusher Ahman Green ever comes to GB if Coach isn't at the helm in Seattle.
-Maybe Favre stays a little more MVP level instead of gun slinger without anyone who can control him within the organization.
- Freeman, Brooks and Levens all still decline from injuries and what not and Chewy's neck injury could still have gone down so the whole offense from the Super Bowl run would have to be retooled.
- The D was also in need of rebuild, and Fritz Shurmur was about to die. Is there a scenario where Ray Rhodes becomes the DC again instead of HC if Holmgren stays on?
- Randy Moss is still a force of nature, so the Packers are probably second class in the NFC central anyway. I can't recall off hand when Tampa leaves in the re-alignment exactly but it is in this time frame.
- Holmgren wasn't much of a GM in Seattle, so the Packers might not be much better off than Sherman's reign anyway? (Nailed the Hassellbach trade, plus drafting Hutchinson, Walter Jones, Alexander) Obviously that wouldn't be 1:1 with the Packer draft slots.
