Watching the "Turtles in Time" episode right now - won me over with an almost immediate reference to Bill and Ted.

It made me think of the 3rd movie and thus I did not enjoy it much.

I've never seen it outside of the AVGN review of it, and I own it because it came in a Blu-Ray trilogy. Also, fun fact, it was not called "Turtles in Time" officially until the release of said home video - that was just people throwing the name of the beloved video game on it.

In other words, I thought of the game, not the film. The episode that followed it (origins of Shredder) was great.

I don't think it's a classic, and it's still the worse of the three, but people's reactions are always like "UGH!!!" when it should be more like "Meh."

Most reactions are based on the immediate feeling after seeing it as a kid, though. First movie is awesome, second movie is really good fun, and then you hear "they're going back in time" for part 3 after the incredible Turtles in Time game and then you get TMNT III: "Tarzan Boy" is the highlight.

I liked it right away (well, I was 5), but I'm not in a hurry to watch it again. And like I said, it's closer to "Meh." for me.

So based on some background jokes in the episode I just watched ("Venkman was Here" and a NES Advantage being inside the Statue of Liberty), this show and the Ghostbusters films are a shared universe.

Loved the Crognard finale.

So...

Super Shredder stabbed Splinter and tossed him off a building to his death.

The Turtles went on a revenge rampage and straight up killed a few of Shredder's mutant minions as revenge.

Pretty intense for a Kids show
