Welcoming our new insect overlords
I've seen decent footage of US workers from that era. But there's precious little of that whole lucha generation.
Macho died later that day and was replaced by Mr. Madness.Back in 1991, during the Randy Savage/Jake Roberts feud, there was a segment after a Jake Roberts squash match where Jake got on the stick and baited the Macho Man into the ring where he tied Savage up in the ropes and had his infamous king cobra bite and gnaw on his arm.
My question is, was the cobra de-venomized by the laboratory was there REAL venom shot into the Macho Man's arm? Anyone here know the backstage story here?
I forgot about this one but the footage available has Russ Davis doing commentary in post production and has no mention of the title so it's easy to forgetThe 1950 AWA title switch between Gorgeous George and Don Eagle exists, that would've been televised.
You also have to remember that while these guys all did steroids that mess with their health, a lot of these guys are in legitimately tip top athletic shape at the time (and even post-wrestling sometimes) so that covers up a lot of the health issues. I'd make an argument that all of the other drugs e.g. cocaine, etc. probably did more harm and/or led to earlier deaths more-so than the actual usage of steroids.I'm still surprised that Hogan and Scott Steiner are still with us, (at least, right now), giving how THEY also took steroids, as well.
