I genuinely forgot that there was an episode of Arthur where Arthur decked DW (and that was the origin of the Arthur clinching his fist meme!)

Which is a weird thing to forget cause I feel like a scene where a little girl gets smacked would be very jarring even 10-20 years earlier let alone in the late '90s.

I'll never forget the episode of Arthur guest starring Art Garfunkel though.

I only had brothers. If I had a sister (especially one as annoying as DW), I'd probably want to punch them but it's still weird to see on a light kids show!

Come to think of it, I can't think of many instances of kids of any gender getting punched when I was watching cartoons. And if it did happen, it was usually as very special episode about how fighting is wrong.

I remember an episode of Doug about a schoolyard fight that showed Doug knocking one of the nerd twins out cold.

There was that episode of Rugrats where Chuckie thought he was a super hero. He wound up spearing Angelica at the end because she teased him.

Here is one for all of us ‘90s boys...a documentary about Barney hate!
My niece was born in 92 so 10 year old Brody spent 2 or 3 years babysitting while Barney was at the height of his powers.
We had a VHS we taped off PBS that was a mix of Barney and random WWF Superstars feature matches I taped in between. I will always associate Barney w/the Bushwackers facing the Quebeccers (Ok, that was a random RAW I apparently was able to see at my brothers apartment or something), and Doink vs Crush from Superstars (from the same weekend where Crush was facing Yoko on RAW and did the injury angle).

I can still sing several of the Barney songs by heart.
I found the plush Barney (my niece loved at the time) at a flea market several years ago. My niece didn't give a shit when I showed her.

I may have mentioned something like this before, but when Noelle was born I started watching Sesame Street again. Before the HBO purchase Bob, Gordon, Maria and Luis would pop in occasionally and that kind of continuity was comforting. Seeing Emilio Delgado (Luis), Carroll Spinney (Big Bird/Oscar) and now Bob pass away in the last five years is just a brutal reminder that you can't go back.
