Just put in my Amazon pre-order for the game. There they have it for $54.99, you get a $20 credit and 99 cent release day shipping. I really loved figuring out different ways to solve the puzzles in the first game and am looking forward to the longer solo campaign and the co-op.

I've got PS3 pre-ordered too. Just gonna wait to be extra sure about how the Steam linking works. If it's really as simple as "Buy PS3 version, link accounts, redeem code, get PC/Mac version free", with no strings attached to the PS3 disc after that, then I'm absolutely in. But if not... as cool as the whole thing is, I don't buy digital games for $60, whether I'm getting "two" copies of it or not.

Pre-ordered from Amazon and got the free shipping so it'll be awhile for me, but I'm excited.

What a fucking great opening sequence. None of the puzzles have been too challenging so far (I'm up to #11) and glaDOS is fucking hilarious being all passive-aggressive about the whole killing her thing (including making cracks about your weight). The writing is just top-notch.

Fun game. Some of the liquid puzzles were annoying. The ending song doesn't hold a candle to "Still Alive" but still a decent ending song. About 7 hours uninterrupted game-play since I was beyond tired about halfway in. First time I've been sucked into a game since I was was much younger.

Stephen Merchent should get some kind of award for this.

I think the thing I love most about the game is that it is CONSTANTLY giving you something new. It doesn't seem to rely on one mechanic for too long before introducing something else to work with. It's not all "find a way to get the cube to the button".

This actually makes me want to play the first one again.

Yeah - I just realized that's my ID. I sign in with dubq, but it always shows vivisectvi, so I wasn't sure which to put in the ID list on the board. Guess I'll go edit that now that I know for sure! :p

Anyone else solve a puzzle due to just screwing around?

It was the #11 puzzle in Wheatley's area towards the end. I just started shooting portals at the cubes until one landed right where I needed it to in order to hit the switch on the ceiling

EDIT: Just finished it. It's early, but this is my favorite game of 2011 so far. Really liked the ending. I'll probably give co-op a shot tomorrow night if anyone wants to join me.

Valve announced DLC coming in the summer. It'll have more test chambers, a challenge mode for single and co-op and leaderboards.

Oh, and it'll be free. Kudos Valve.

My copy showed up on Wednesday and I started playing last night. Love it, and don't have any problems with the price even though I'm sure it won't take too long to finish. Doubt I'll ever even bother with co-op mode.

Absolutely. I never played the first Portal but decided to give this one a go, and the opening dialogue on the first few levels were top notch and kept me interested, until I really got into it and the levels got me interested.

Just how many levels are there? I dont know if i'm really way into the game or just starting out.

I'm at a point where

I've been blamed for murdering some kind of machine and she's put me through about 15 levels of tests so far
.

Excellent. What's so good about the 'short' levels is you can just pick up and play whenever.

Water pouring out of the ceiling and window and onto my TV and X-box wasn't enough to keep me from finishing Portal 2! Just finished it, and I'd call it a masterpiece. The ending song doesn't hold a candle to Still Alive, but that wasn't likely anyway. Absolutely LOVED this game though, loved it.

Agreed. It was pretty much perfect. There were a couple times where I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do/doing wrong...but when I figured it out I always felt stupid.

The worst is when you (and maybe it's just happens to me) think you've figured out the puzzle, with some advanced portal platforming, and you waste a LOT of time trying to pull it off, finally give up, and then find the real solution which was about 1,000 times simpler than what you were trying. I must have done that half a dozen times in this game. Mostly in puzzles involving any of the gels.

Yeah, the game loves to trap you into over thinking things. Usually if you take a second to look around the solution becomes pretty clear. They love to put portalable surfaces really far away so you should use the zoom feature a lot.
