I'm totally gutted by this new. I am a big fan of Prince. I got to see him live at MSG a few years ago. He was playing for 3 nights in a row and I went with my parents (both big fans as well) to the third night. It was just supposed to be him performing, but Morris Day and the Time opened. They played for about an hour and were amazing in their own right. Prince performed for over 2 hours and blew the roof off. Batdance was the first single I ever owned. My mom bought it for me and I played it so much. When Doves Cry is one of my top 3 all-time favorite songs. He was not just a great performer, but one of the greatest guitar players ever. Dude could so just go. And his songwriting and singing were second to none. Damn it.

Prince was maybe the second artist I can remember being massively into and although I spent so much time listening to him as a teenager that I never felt in the mood to as an adult, I always knew they would still be as brilliant as they always were whenever the mood did strike again, and I sort of felt the same way about Prince himself as well. He seemed indestructible. I haven't even managed to process this yet.

Hola-wizards take heed, this is good. I'm on someone else's laptop and none of his stuff's on Youtube (though there are tonnes of incredible live performances and I could post like 10 of them if there's enough interest), so this is getting me through. At the start they say they'll only play his music for 40 minutes but then it's all Prince. There's a clear solution to what ails us all. Be less beastly: listen to Prince.

I was never a big Prince fan, but he's one of those artists where even people who aren't big fans will still like half a dozen songs by him. Same with Bowie, not a huge fan, but there's work there that I really dig. And can appreciate the greatness in both even if it's not totally for me.

cured by pray.

Members of his faith are also claimed to have told him to ignore saying to the singer he had “everlasting life”.

Someone got paid to write that. And someone else might have gotten paid to proofread it.

I wouldn't be surprised if they unearthed multiple albums worth of content but that number seems ultra insane.

There will be some decent stuff and stuff that is alright but understandable why he didn't release, like all the stuff they dug up for MJ after he passed.

Given two of the projects listed were called The Undertaker and Bockwinkel, and give he was a lifelong Minnesotan resident, is it possible Prince was a closet wrestling/AWA fan?

David Z, a sound engineer, told the Minneapolis StarTribune that Prince once challenged Michael Jackson to a game of pingpong while the two were recording in the same studio.

Apparently, Jackson wasn’t a player. And it didn’t end well for the gloved one.

Prince asked Jackson, “You want me to slam it?” As Jackson cowered, Prince did just that, and Jackson was humiliated. “Did you see that?” Z recalled Prince saying. “He played like Helen Keller.”
