As long as they don't do something stupid like replace the music that's a day one buy.

As great as that looks my mind is kind of wrapped up in the look behind you vs. "watch" behind you lyrics in the song they used.

Chip n Dale and Darkwing Duck need remasters.

Funny how you say that, because I read that if DuckTales does well, they might do remakes of other old-school Disney/Capcom games.

It's confirmed that the game will feature all of the original voice actors from the show. I still haven't heard anything about the music though:(

Digitally enhanced soundtrack – Built from the original versions, the soundtrack for DuckTales Remastered creates more modern amplified iterations of the classic melodies

Not all ducks get that kind of respect.

Hamilton Camp died over 7 years ago, so I guess Gizmo Duck is still going to have the smallest role possible... or voiced by someone else.

Fenton Crackshell is my favourite character :(

I guess they lied then, unless they took Gizmo duck out of the game.
"We have ALL the original voice actors from the show. Scrooge's voice actor is now 94 years old but he still came into the studio and did his thing like a pro. The voice work really adds a lot to the package."

94 year old Scrooge gettin' it done.

Game could feature Gizmo, but he doesn't say anything. Pretty easy to do.

So, going, to, buy.

I think the way Capcom works the nostalgia market is second only to Nintendo. I cant wait to see what this starts.

Mega Man and Silent Hill HD have made me hesitant to buy retro games that are re-mastered or updated. Sometimes the nostalgia factor captures your memory so vividly that you are enticed to spend the money and after about an hour of playing the game you realize why the game was made in the era it was.

That said......consider my $15 for Ducktales already allocated.

Since Remastered will feature brand-new remixes of the original's music by Jake Kaufman – the guys at WayForward were a bit cagey about revealing whether or not we'd be able to switch over to the NES versions – I decided to end our talk with a very important question about The Moon's theme. Namely, "How do you improve on perfection?"

After joking about cutting the song from the game entirely, Bozon says, "Believe me, our musician, Jake – he was feeling the pressure. Because, to him, it's a very iconic song. So [The Moon theme] was the first thing he did, and then he did all of the music in the game, and then he touched [The Moon theme] up again. Because he wanted to make sure it was as good as it can be, and it sounds incredible. That's all I can say at this point."

We'll have our chance to see, and hear, if WayForward's strategy pays off this summer.

My son, as a hardcore Mega Man fan, would beg to differ with you. So, for that matter, would I. Unless you meant "work" in the wrestling/carny sense.

I worked with Jake IRL about 10 years back. He is a good guy and even back then he was running vgremix website, not to be confused with ocremix. Jake can be trusted to show respect to the source material. His work on Contra Hard Corps: Uprising was great and his music in the recent Double Dragon Remix downloadable game was easily the best part of that experience. That being said, I still would want toggles for original art and music like was done for the Monkey Island remakes even if all I do is swap it a few times in order to gain a better appreciation for the new stuff. IIRC Capcom didn't have a toggle like that for the Bionic Commando remakes which doesn't bode well I for that option, I suppose.

I didn't know that along with Capcom doing this, Sega is putting out an updated version of Mickey Mouse: Castle of Illusion. Both due out this summer, with no confirmed dates yet but Mickey is seemingly coming out first, as all the achievements have been announced.
