The Video on Trial for Metallica's St. Anger is the funniest/meanest one they ever did

I fucking loved Youthanasia. That album is one where there are no weak tracks in my point of view. There is nothing wrong with dowshifting a gear and using some heavy riffage.

Cryptic Writings is decent, but there are a couple songs I can skip over, but at the same time, Heavy does not always equal Fast. Almost Honest is one of the heavier songs Megadeth has done. That being said, Rust in Peace is a masterpiece. Risk has a couple of good songs, but that album is hit and miss.

United Abominations was good, but yes, very politicized. Endgame sounds promising though. I have said it before, but I wish to all hell that Dave would just settle down and stick with one musical lineup. Marty Friedman was the perfect foil for Dave, and they made some damned good music together, but it seems that he burns out the band members he hires... not to mention the on-again, off-again relationship with Dave Ellefson is weird as well..

As good as Megadeth was and is, they could have been better if Dave didn't let hard feelings for being kicked out of Metallica linger for so long, and having a consistent lineup.

I was wondering that too.

And I completely agree with what Rendclaw is saying about Marty Friedman. The guy's solo albums are pretty top notch.

I thought I had read that Marty felt hampered and wanted to branch out musically? Not so much being burned out, just ready to do something different?

Shitallica always seemed like a band who were very poor at doing something that doesn't interest me in the first place. Then again they're metal, so I have no idea what I'm talking about.

That was after Dave fired him, so I think he was trying to save face. Dude is in self-imposed exile in Japan, because he is worshipped as a guitar god over there.

I don't get the point of that picture. Is it because he's shopping at Armani and is therefore spending a lot of money which isn't METAL? Or is it because he looks like a lamewad? Either point doesn't hold up.

The first point doesn't hold, yes, but he does look rather silly

Trujillo is hard not to like. Suicidal Tendencies and Infectious Grooves were both fucking nasty, and the man is a natural as putting on a fun and energetic stage show. But that picture is funny, because wealth is not a staple of heavy music. It's either you get the joke or you don't.

Yeah, I think it was a combination of a slice of Hetfield being a married guy and it being *so* not metal. Its a rather amusing picture.

I've always loved Trujillo's work, though I didn't really listen to him until he got on board with Ozzy. Excellent bass work, and hell, he was the perfect replacement for Jason Newsted.

Though it wasn't his fault, I did dislike his work on the remastering of Ozzy's back catalogue. Phil Soussan, Geezer Butler and et al became victims of Sharon's greed, vindictiveness and cuntitude...
