Six. Times. In the back.

But, just comply, though.

It's bad. It's my hometown and I miss it to death, and having what amounts to misfortune in following all this is devastating. Breaks my heart seeing this happen, and violence begating violence, and how it's just hurting so many I know. That said it's the ONE city I wouldn't fuck with.

An officer came back to her apartment building after work, somehow got into the wrong apartment, then shot the man to death who was sitting in his OWN home.

Drug test pending.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/12/06/us/florida-ups-truck-police-chase-investigation/index.html

Rush hour traffic gets treated like Grand Theft Auto in Broward County, FL:

The scene was a nightmare: After a long, televised police chase of a hijacked UPS truck ground to a halt at a jammed South Florida intersection, gunfire erupted seemingly from everywhere Thursday evening — with vehicles stopped at a traffic light serving as officers' impromptu shields.

Gunfire exploded toward and from the truck. A bystander crouched on a median, then scrambled away as officers closed in.

In the end, four people were shot dead at the intersection in Miramar, authorities said, including two robbery suspects, a bystander, and hostage UPS driver Frank Ordonez, a man who relatives say had been substituting for a colleague who had called out from work that day.

Boy. All of you NYC area TSMers must feel great, having your police union publicly threaten your mayor (who they bullied into silence in first few months of his admin).

In another tweet, they demanded Trump call in the Feds.

Boy, The Police sure are friendly folks. ::)

I'm acquaintances with a few cops whom I'm connected with on Facebook and they all HATE DeBlasio. I'm not crazy about him either (I think he's more ineffective than outright evil and incompetent) but these same people post pro-Trump nonsense and talk about liberals destroying the city so yeah.

I think De Blasio is a well meaning doofus. The level of hatred New Yorkers of all political persuasion and background have towards him amuses me. But the NYPD's fascist ideals are scary.

So selling marijuana is not an essential service but arresting marijuana dealers is?

Don't have a lot of details, none outside of the local papers, but two local cops (one of which was State Trooper of the year a few years ago) were caught dealing in child porn. Both guys look to have multiple charges. The smaller agency also had a guy in the last 3 years get hit with a child sex crime (I don't know the correct vocabulary words but he was touching a minor). It is jarring. It's one of those small town police departments that my oil field friends would wind up working for whenever the economy dips. One of those, you'd think you could have a camera crew follow around for the heart warming good stuff of small town law and instead the perverts are getting in.

Also, same general area had a fireman also get caught within the same 48 hour period. No one in media has said it, but I'm guessing it was all part of the same sting. Just so gross. Every time I'm out with the smaller relatives I always tell them if something bad happens to find a policeman, fireman, or medic and I don't even want to do that anymore. Going to just have to teach them how to spot the signs of Uncle SFH finally having a heart attack.

It's also one of those things where I think the FBI literally has to re-write the book on/alter the training of how to keep these guys down on the ground. If a guy has handcuffs on, a simple knee in the back/straddle their back & just sit on them, should be enough to keep them down. Why is a knee (or forearm) to the neck ever a necessity?

As somebody who's had to restrain many a violent asshole in my life, I can tell you that pressure and control of the neck gives you command of their entire body. It's also entirely unnecessary when you already have control of the situation, as this fuck did, or have back-up, also as this fuck did.

The physiology of how helpless we as humans become from neck pressure is over my head, but scary real. Just look at how debilitating a shoot face lock, head lock, and similar moves are in combat sports, how quickly a "tap" comes. Now add the real world stakes of the difference between detaining a suspect and out right brutality and murder. On top of that it was a knee, which means the entirety of this person's weight was on the deceased.

What was so disgusting and abhorrent about this situation particularly was that he held his knee against his neck for approximately nine minutes. NINE FUCKING MINUTES. This was all over the fact that apparently the guy was suspected of making a forged or bad check. Absolutely terrible. More video has come out showing the guy was complying with cops initially, and reports from people in the neighorhood reported there was nothing that he did to precipitate such excessive force for such an excessive amount of time. This is police brutality at it's most ugly side.

I had a feeling something like this would occur with the goddamn Minneapolis police department eventually after the officer got off scot-free after murdering Philando Castillo years ago. And sure enough, it's pretty much a situation that is the most blatant use of unnecessary force I've ever seen in my life. It's no shock when you make a statement by that previous case that cops in this area can literally get away with murder and this is a clear example of that.

If at least the one guy doesn't get charged with murder, it's a travesty of justice in the highest manner and the Twin Cities will likely have another round of BLM stuff going on even harder and harsher than previously when the Castilo case occured. The other cops should eventually be charged flat out as accomplices in all of this.

The Minneapolis police department union chief, who is of course the ultimate Trumper, can't even defend this shit this time around. I'm sure he will try eventually. I know the department tried stating Floyd died at the hospital later, but from citizens who witnessed this atrosity, the claim by them is that he was already dead by the time the asshole took the knee off him. He was already unconscious at that point and the parametics, etc, weren't instructed to really even do anything about it. Absolute trash situation on many levels.

Well said on all of that, Red Jed. The Castille murder was one of the most disgusting things ever (between him being a legal concealed carry member and him telling the cop over and over that he had a gun), and that this happens again in less than four years in the same city and same jurisdiction is sad and pathetic.

A cop in LA just accidentally killed some dude who was on the hood of a car that was being destroyed, they slowly accelerated away and the guy jumped off and smashed his head on the asphalt.
