The scene was a nightmare: After a long, televised police chase of a hijacked UPS truck ground to a halt at a jammed South Florida intersection, gunfire erupted seemingly from everywhere Thursday evening — with vehicles stopped at a traffic light serving as officers' impromptu shields.
Gunfire exploded toward and from the truck. A bystander crouched on a median, then scrambled away as officers closed in.
In the end, four people were shot dead at the intersection in Miramar, authorities said, including two robbery suspects, a bystander, and hostage UPS driver Frank Ordonez, a man who relatives say had been substituting for a colleague who had called out from work that day.
As somebody who's had to restrain many a violent asshole in my life, I can tell you that pressure and control of the neck gives you command of their entire body. It's also entirely unnecessary when you already have control of the situation, as this fuck did, or have back-up, also as this fuck did.Harley Quinn said:Why is a knee (or forearm) to the neck ever a necessity?
RedJed said:What was so disgusting and abhorrent about this situation particularly was that he held his knee against his neck for approximately nine minutes. NINE FUCKING MINUTES. This was all over the fact that apparently the guy was suspected of making a forged or bad check. Absolutely terrible. More video has come out showing the guy was complying with cops initially, and reports from people in the neighorhood reported there was nothing that he did to precipitate such excessive force for such an excessive amount of time. This is police brutality at it's most ugly side.
I had a feeling something like this would occur with the goddamn Minneapolis police department eventually after the officer got off scot-free after murdering Philando Castillo years ago. And sure enough, it's pretty much a situation that is the most blatant use of unnecessary force I've ever seen in my life. It's no shock when you make a statement by that previous case that cops in this area can literally get away with murder and this is a clear example of that.
If at least the one guy doesn't get charged with murder, it's a travesty of justice in the highest manner and the Twin Cities will likely have another round of BLM stuff going on even harder and harsher than previously when the Castilo case occured. The other cops should eventually be charged flat out as accomplices in all of this.
The Minneapolis police department union chief, who is of course the ultimate Trumper, can't even defend this shit this time around. I'm sure he will try eventually. I know the department tried stating Floyd died at the hospital later, but from citizens who witnessed this atrosity, the claim by them is that he was already dead by the time the asshole took the knee off him. He was already unconscious at that point and the parametics, etc, weren't instructed to really even do anything about it. Absolute trash situation on many levels.
