The Trump Presidency: Now auditioning for 51st State

"He hosted Central Asian leaders for dinner at the White House on Thursday. A day later, the 38th day of the government shutdown, Hungary’s authoritarian prime minister came for lunch. On Monday, Syria’s president will make an historic visit to the White House.

“He’s having a lot of success with world leaders, and they all respect him,” one Trump adviser said. “He’s focusing where he’s successful. But people know it doesn’t motivate anyone to vote.”

Even Vice President JD Vance said last week that domestic matters should be a priority. “We need to focus on the home front,” he wrote on X the day after the election...

A CNN survey released last week found only 1% of adult Americans named foreign policy as the most important issue facing the country; 47% said the economy and cost of living.

Since returning to office in January, Trump has hosted at the White House the leaders of Hungary, Ukraine, Argentina, Finland, Canada, Israel, Turkey, Poland, Korea, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Philippines, Bahrain, Congo, Rwanda, Pakistan, Germany, South Africa, Norway, Italy, El Salvador, Ireland, the United Kingdom, France, India, Jordan and Japan. Some have visited multiple times."

It's all about being the Emperor of Earth and making people come kiss your ring. It's been unfortunate because when Shitbag fiddles with domestic policies rather than foreign it hurts him more. The Right has established, through decades of programming and starving Social Studies, an incredible ignorance towards international affairs as well as encouraging the attitude of "what does (country) have to do with my paycheck?"

What about tariffs? Isn't that international? Sure if you actually think about it, but this is a transactional regime, as are their acolytes. We're being screwed! Ain't that a simple narrative that anyone can understand, as long as it comes from the actual screwed. Anyone else who tries to decry the system will be grabbed off the street by some soon-to-be-established "quality of life guardians" by 2035.

I hope the Supreme Court will rule against the Trump tariff tax hikes, but I won't be holding my breath. I can't risk passing out, falling down, and sustaining another concussion.

What I do feel confident in predicting: As early as 2029, Scrotus will begin reigning in presidential powers the moment Newson or Pritzker or AOC or whoever starts trying to fix the GOP's latest historic fuckup.

I'm sure she followed up with a strong question and, over at CNN, Tapper spent an entire show focused on a president getting 10k payouts "from someplace."

The president doesn't know why he had to have an MRI. So mad at that autopen he got caught placing identical signatures on his pardons he had no knowledge of signing.

He went nuts on Greene and no longer supports her. SAD.
Not surprisingly, Marge is getting threats now:
This will provide the road map and ground rules for forcing obedience before 2026. This guy can't allow for any separate groups in HIS party, not even to keep up appearances that they aren't all walking rubber stamps.

His nickname for her (“Marjorie Taylor Brown”) is lame as Hell, but TBH his last good one was “Meatball Ron”.

Oh pleasepleaseplease

He should bring the Undertaker and his theme song for the big welcome when Our Saudi Daddy arrives.

He didn't say "piggy" he said "u can't see me"

He didn't say "hang them" he said he "brang some" trillions of dollars to the American people

So entertaining. So internet.

The only reason he can't leave this alone has to be trying to avoid future prosecution when the proof emerges of him and his people actively coordinating the Capitol attack, telling the military to stay away, etc.

I mean, in this case it's just to come up with some reason, ANY reason, to get into a vanity war that would piss the world off worse than invading Iraq ever did. Still, it's incredible how everything has to come back to that fucking election.

Her change of heart makes a lot more sense now. Ridiculous. Guarantee she was told to leave or suffer genuine consequences (like mob shit, I don't trust these fucks) for defying Dear Leader.

And people thought this was some sign of Republican fracturing. They'll just get rid of anyone who causes waves. Now if you don't mind, they have a lot of people with black markers who need to get back to work covering up names on documents.

Yeah I really don't think this is some kind of fucking massive conspiracy. You can trace her growing disillusionment and the party led by Trump turning on her. Then she gets a ton of death threats, which isn't something you need "the mob" for. Now she can leave office without having lost, take a job as a talking head or as a lobbyist, write a book, etc. When things continue to get worse for Trump she will look smart.
