The Trump Presidency: Now auditioning for 51st State

The Feds have started wars in or military attacks on at least 4 countries: Iran, Venezuela, Colombia, and the United States itself. I'm probably forgetting and/or don't know about more. I don't think four in peacetime has ever happened in a 10 month stretch for any president.

Good thing nothing bad has ever happened when the CIA goes mucking around in Latin American countries. At least he has good reasons...

“I authorized for two reasons, really,” Trump said. “No. 1, they have emptied their prisons into the United States of America."

The second reason, he said, was narcotics trafficking.

“And the other thing are drugs. We have a lot of drugs coming in from Venezuela,” he said.

Venezuela's simply the easiest punching bag of a target that is recognized as "BAD PLACE" by the cult. Add in "DRUGS AND CRIME" and it'll be a slam dunk with polling being overwhelmingly positive to the unbiased question of "do you approve of our heroic actions against Venezuela to stop drugs and violent criminals via military infusion?" following the invasion.

Anyone who thinks that the GOP is going to change when Trump is gone is in for disappointment. They've locked into a brand identity of being huge assholes (and racists) and are only going to go further and further.
 
I don't think they're going to change, I think they're going to fail horribly within the next cycle after Trump is gone. Even the base is beginning to get sick of it.
 
Arrogance like this has never really been punished by the American public. Buried later by history but at the time no real penalties ever happen for this when the people are still alive. Couple that with structural ways they've ensured their power and we're looking at a lot of bloodshed and violence by the time we're all in our 60s.
 
Yeah, thinking it's going to change or that they'll be held accountable or that America will decide to put humanity above online entertainment is starting to feel kinda delusional.

The resistance remains strong, I think today will bear that out. Millions of people are standing opposed. But we were doing so last year, too. And in 2016. 2008. 2004. And, I think, that will continue. But the idea that we're on the precipice (or even looking at the precipice from a telescope on the moon) of toppling these societal constructs that define and inform so many people's behavior choices, I'm not bought into that.
 
I'm not saying that they'll change their ways and stop trying to turn memes into policy, or that the general public will somehow mature.

I'm saying these people will be out of a fucking job once Flubs McGhee is gone. Again, the base, the kinds of people I need to deal with every single day of my life, are starting to turn on them.
 
To really show them, he should rename it to the District of AMERICA.
 
I approve of Politico doing real journalism (sorta) and publishing this stuff for everybody to see. I do like the arguments about "context" not possibly being provided when Politico could probably publish the entire chats and let people see for themselves.
