I think I quite like the new LCD Soundsystem album, but I'll have to give it a couple more spins before I can be absolutely sure.

I really liked it up until the vocals came in on "Pow Pow," which are so baldly derivative of David Byrne that I cannot and will not tolerate it. At least Adrian Belew was a colleague. This, though, is too much.

Any one have an opinion on the new Tallest Man on Earth disc? I think I like it, but am guessing that after this week I'll forget it exists.

I just noticed that the already delightful little dancing T-Rexes become 8 times more charming if you stare intently at them during the breakdown @ 2'40" of this.

Edit: they also throw down good to "Tell 'Em"

It took me a while to digest it and figure it out but Together is the clear, CLEAR winner of the spate of albums that came out in May. Reviews compared it to Twin Cinema and at first I didn't get it, but after repeated listens they are all winners. As I mentioned at the time, both Bejar tracks ("Silver Jenny Dollar" and "Daughters of Sorrow") are fantastic and the rest of the tracks really zing. "We End Up Together" is a great closer and the sing along at the end of "Crash Years" reminds me of "Bleeding Heart Show" in the best way possible.

Love this album. One of my new all-time faves.

As for Sleigh Bells, I don't give the album as much credit as I should but I adore "Crown on the Ground".

I'm really liking the stuff from that Best Coast record that I've heard. I haven't listened to the whole album because I don't listen to new albums anymore, but the songs I've listened to on YouTube have been aces.

I don't think of music in terms of albums anymore so I can't speak on that, but pujoljunkie definitely scooped everyone on Sleigh Bells. Good job, Harry.

Really digging the Best Coast album. Very fun, very straightforward. It's appropriate listening for punishing yourself at the gym and then afterwards punishing yourself in the showers. It's like the Go-Gos meets the Raincoats meets Exile in Guyville meets the Jetsons. I don't really think of music in terms of sound anymore, but this sounds pretty good.
