In. That said I'm getting ready for some pretty heavy and totally unneeded cameos from whoever they can get.

I wonder if they're going to mock what metal has been for the last 20 years. Seeing Derek Smalls in corpsepaint or Nigel Tufnel with cargo shorts and tribal ink will be funny on its own.

Some early predictions:

It will be boring and safe as fuck. Halford will cameo and they might get a Zoom cameo of a decrepit Ozzy. Snoop Dogg will also be in it for some reason.

I have more faith in this group of comedians than pretty much any other at this point, so at worst it's going to be "fun but totally unnecessary and it was great seeing everyone enjoy themselves."

I get that especially with Guest and McKean, but on the other end, Rob Reiner hasn't directed a good movie since Bill Clinton's first term. If Guest was also directing, maybe I'd be more excited.

I'm optimistic as well but Guest seems like he hasn't given a shit in 20 years or so. But... he's with his friends and there's plenty of material ripe for satire of the music industry.

Also I agree about Reiner but I did like the Albert Brooks doc he made.

If they're just bouncing off each other, it's the easiest gig. Guest is a better choice at this point but it isn't like Reiner would be the reason it doesn't work as a director, if he did. If it doesn't work it's down to trying to be too modern and "with it," or because they're just too old to succeed to the level expected of them (which I'm not worried about in the slightest and am being realistic about).

Shearer is the only one I have concerns about, cast-wise, and that is solely because he's looking and sounding his age vs the others.
