I don't know if it should get its own thread, but Transformers: War for Cybertron came out today, and it's actually pretty decent. Got a 9 from IGN, among others. I'm not really a Transformers guy, or a shooter guy for the most part, but I kinda like it so far. I imagine fans should really dig it. I picked up a copy for my bud, who's the collect the action figures type, and he seems to be loving it.

While playing as Starscream in the Decepticon campaign, one of my cohorts (skywarp?) had gotten snagged on the floor. I melee attacked him to knock him loose, and Starscream berated Skywarp for being clumsy and getting in his way. GAMELOVE.

I'm glad they've kept Skywarp in character as the Decepticon's villiage idiot. I was pissed when movie-toy continuity turned him into the Decepticon's highly-intelligent weapon developer.

I don't know how I missed this thread. Wasn't even bumped a week ago. :-\ Ah well.

I played Chapter II last night, and, well...
flight combat. Swoopin' in on fools with... Starscream (?)... and bashing 'em with a hammerfist.
Sweet.

Just completed the game.

AWSOME. The controls could have been improved, but my god the fan service for G1ers is outstanding. That topped off with Stan Bush playing the Credits.

8/10.

Just checked...Double XP weekend for Multiplayer starting after 6 PM Pacific.

Thanks for the heads up, that may give me an excuse to crack it open finally. I've heard such great things but I've been really behind on my games plus all the other recent stuff I've been picking up, I've been neglecting this one.

First DLC is up today (a couple new MP maps, and the preorder characters are released for everybody.) There might be another double xp weekend this weekend, but I haven't seen it confirmed.

Has anyone played the co-op mode? I don't mean the online one, I mean the two player one. Trying to find out if this will fit into the "game for two" category that has been severely lacking on the PS3.

I rented Transformers: Dark of the Moon and tried the multiplayer game. It's basically TF:WFC but everything is worse. Several weapons and abilities are locked into a class (you can't even exchange them for OTHER class-specific stuff) and both vary depending on which side you're playing. So maybe you like playing a scout with cloak and shotgun. Too bad, you're a Decepticon this round. Also, either damage or accuracy is completely meaningless because I'll empty a gun at point blank range and my opponent is still standing.

C- rounded down to F since they had a A- to start with.

The REAL sequel, Traansformers: Fall of Cybertron, was released about two weeks ago. I've only played the Multiplayer so far, and it's a fraction of its former self. Every class has less weapons, less abilities, less JUMPING, for crying out loud. They apparently did it for game balance.

For some reason, you can still make multiple characters of the same class, so I can at least make a proper Decepticon and Autobot design and just give them the same loadouts.

I've played up through mission 5 and like what I've seen so far. Skyrim pulled me away AGAIN though.
