Have been helping a friend and their family out, so I don't have the cash to buy the game at the moment, and am basically just waiting for Gamefly to send me a copy. Sorry to flake.

I played this yesterday at my friend's house and I like it. Went on beginner the first few times around to try and get stuff down, dirty boxed my way through a lightweight tourney with Guida, taking out Edgar, BJ, Cole Miller, and Griffin. Bumped it up a level and then beat Nog with Kimbo in a couple of minutes.

After that put it on expert and the game is just so much fun on it. I only won 3 matches out of the 8 I had but I grew so bored of dominating the last game on expert that this was fun and refreshing. Bones Jones is ridiculous in this game and I knocked out Shogun after catching a low kick and punching him down taunting him to get up and then timing the spinning elbow perfectly as he got up in the second round on expert. Then I tried to recreate this two more times and got worked over.

I'm on the PS3 and I suck fairly badly so far. I can't even keep my stats constant, and sparring is a nightmare. Automated gives me jack-all points, and manual gets me even less. I was (relatively) good at the last game, but this one's doing a number on me.

Same here. I'm 3 fights into a career and it feels like my overall stats are worse than when I started out. Everything's decreasing. I'm not digging it. I'm getting like 6 or 7 points in sparring.

It's pretty easy to work your way around the new stat declining systems. Focus on ones you want to raise up the quickest... get to 30. Then save all your points from sparring up until the fight and use them then.

In regards to stat decay and sparring...You definitely need to do the sparring for the first few weeks ignoring training Strength, Speed, and Cardio. The first thing I do is learn the Suplex to side control from double underhook clinch, which is pretty easy to learn. Then go to sparring and use the takedown over and over, or take the dude down with the suplex and stand up quick, then just keep striking the body and head over and over while he is down. Easy 50+ points every time.

Once you get that down you will need to train all your attributes up to at least 30 so they won't decay. Then you can do the same with Strength, Speed, and cardio.

So I was using the suplex deal to up my stats. When training partner #2 came in I stuck with it and still got him down 7-9 times. Out of nowhere he starts blocking them all now I'm landing about 4 per.

The EA game looks like crap. But Dana's got this deal where he doesn't think MMA should exist outside of the UFC, so I like the little F You by putting Randy on the cover

Some of the E3 footage of EA MMA has me worried more than the footage they showed during Henderson vs Shields Strikeforce. Everyone was throwing some shitty punches and then Bob Sapp appears throwing crisp strikes and my head exploded.

So has anyone else just let this game kind of fall by the wayside? I played it a fair bit at launch, but it just doesn't hold my attention all that much. I tried online but between the long connection time, the lag and being put in against a level 45 player in your first match I don't even bother. Don't even get me started on the 5 e-mails I sent to them to activate my community account.

I can see how this game has had disappointing sales; it's not THAT different from 2009 and some of the changes they made (especially to career mode) made it a little worse.

Can he? I'm checking my profile on the community site and it looks like you still can't tie your XBL name to your account yet. Isn't the community site where all that stuff is set up?

I played it for maybe 2 hours and just quit. The interest just isn't there for me this year.

Yeah, I just can't play this against the cpu anymore. I thought winning those challenges in Ultimate Fight mode would unlock full fights, not just a hastily thrown together music video of the fight.

Playing it against friends that have little idea on how to play it is much better since it's a fun kickboxing game where a KO can happen at anytime, but not quite so fun doing anything else.

Stat decay and the impossibly good submissions of the computer make it pretty un-fun. I made a fighter with 100 in submission offense, and a world class gogoplata. Terry Etim gets out every time.

Put me on the boat as "not feeling it" this year. I was playing last years all the way up until release day of this one and now I can't even bother unless I have friends over with nothing else to do.
