What Are You Playing?

I've taken a break from Helldivers 2 and picked Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed back up. It's so simple an asymmetrical game, but the visual customization of the gear is fantastic and the actual busting gameplay may even be better than the 2009 game.
 
Gone back to Star Trek Botf but using some mods from the somehow still active online community (I think the game came out in like 1998?) for the times I feel like a turn based game.

I also got a month of free game pass from using bing (which I loathe but free is free) and I played Clair Obscure which has an amazing story. Gameplay is not really the style I love but is decent (fuck parrying). I also tried Madden for the first time in probably 20 years and...gave up after an hour. Tried THPS 3+4 and got a solid 5 hours of nostalgia from that which was enough. It really isn't the same without a roomful of friends fighting over the controllers.

There isn't a ton of games left on GamePass I'm interested in. I've either played most of them or they don't look interesting. I've got Avowed downloaded to try next. There's the remake of Oblivion but I think that's a bit too much to chew on right now for me.
 
Balatro kind of scares me. Looks like the kind of game I'll lose whole weeks to.
 
I went full Autist in November 2023 and redid my Madden 2013 rosters to mostly match the NFL's 1979 roster...and then did the Franchise mode adding the real draft picks of note. This blended reality created a Redskin dynasty (powered by a back who didn't actually exist, not Riggins) as they won 7 super bowls in 12 years or so and lost another. The Steelers rode the Steel Curtain to something like 5 more Super Bowls, but only one 1.
The AI of course is flawed, so stuff like the Bears letting Walter Payton go in Free Agency happened even though he was 99 overall, etc as teams didn't properly manage their cap.

Anyway, year 18 in and the game finally glitched and would not let me advance as it said the Cowboys did not have enough backs to play with despite signing a ton to the roster to try and unbreak the game. Sadness.
 
WWE 2k25 is having a free weekend I assume because of SummerSlam. I tried it and 1. 96gb, this is clearly a 2k game! 2. The graphics feel almost like they've gone backwards in some way. 3. The gameplay is ok and the amount of moves is crazy. 4. CAW takes too fucking long if you actually want to make a moveset. 5. The games were better when there was no voice acting in them. The talent clearly doesn't give a shit.
 
Anyone playing Dead by Daylight or Elder Scrolls Online?
 
I'm playing Yakuza Kiwami 2 right now and I just got to the stuff where you meet Mutoh, Chono, Fujinami, Tenryu, and Choshu and it's fucking fantastic.

I just did the cutscene with them at the restaurant all bitching about not being able to understand each other. Extremely funny. I also like that the Coliseum lets you fight all the NJPW guys that are in Y6. Kojima spams Lariats like a motherfucker.
 
I'm playing through Y4 right now and I appreciate that the characters all have different fighting styles. 3 was a slog gameplay wise but 4 is great.
 
The demo for Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties is out now. I'm playing Infinite Wealth at the moment. I prefer the RPG style Yakuza games to the brawler ones personally. The gameplay doesn't get as old as fast.
 
Picked up Call of Duty: WWII for under $20 and been enjoying it. I'm through the S.O.E. (4th Mission) although some spots have given me way too much trouble even on 'Rookie' mode. Also fuck the German Shepherds hard... I already hate shit I can't see ambushing me out of nowhere as it is.

- the sniper rifle bit to help Pierson & Zussman at the church... took me way too long to realize that pressing L3 again does the "bullet time" slo-mo, which radically helps that.
- the stealth part of the 4th mission to get to the train as I thought alerting them would lead to the "we've been spotted" next scene part so I kept trying to be overly stealthy rather than realize I can just run through the fucking house and get the same cut scene shit with the Nazis coming out and firing at the chick/guy and us by the post office.
