This song is more catchy than I'd ever like to have admitted. I think I might play this in my car while driving.

Album sales are basically meaningless. That article even says so!

There is a flipside to that, though, of which Flo is again the prime example. The guy may have sold fuck all when it comes to albums, but he moves singles like no other rapper, with seven platinum-selling hits (and an eighth on the way in “Whistle”), two of which (“Right Round” and “Low”) rank among the best-selling singles of the 21st-century. Conventional pop wisdom says that selling ten singles is about the financial equivalent of one album, so by that math, Flo sold more “albums” through his singles than through his actual albums. For artists like Flo, singles are no longer promotional material, they’re basically the core product—and the same goes for Carly Rae, who may never go Gold with Kiss, but essentially already has through the 5x Platinum “Call Me Maybe.” In other words, Carly Rae’s not going hungry anytime soon.

I was thinking the other day about how the current itunes world of music sales can benefit artists. Taylor Swift sold roughly a gazillion downloads of her new single. Before the album comes out she'll have strategically played 2 or 3 other songs on Leno or Letterman or Ellen so they'll sell well too. Then she'll drop the album which everyone will buy. Basically this shrewd girl figured out how to turn "everyone steals music" into "everyone will buy my songs more than once". Other people are good at it...but Swift is the master.

Singles have replaced albums in importance. It's basically like the way the music business was in the '50s and '60s, but instead of 45s, we have iTunes.

So, does the album version of "Good Time" feature more Jepsen, because the version I heard earlier is basically an Owl City song with Jepsen singing "Whoa oh-a oh" in the chorus.

Are these the guys that made the 'firefly' song or whatever it was a few years back? That song was the worst and this one reminds me a lot of it.

This amuses me because my first thought when I clicked on this thread, and saw the pictures in the first reply was, "When did Taylor Swift dye her hair?"

For someone who doesn't listen to the radio or watch MTV/VH1 (and is reluctant to click on that video), is there anywhere else that I would have heard that song? Like, is it used in a commercial, or anything?
