Bryan should have taken a sip of that Diet Dew after going through the table, get revved up, and destroy Batista and Orton in one minute.
 
WWE saying it was a severe concussion Taker suffered and he was released from hospital this afternoon.
 
Yeah, I watch RAW almost every week and only remember one Tyson Kidd match since he came back.

And my one thirtysomething fan friend that I thought wasn't that angry about Undertaker losing just messaged me and said it was the worst thing WWE has ever done and even worse than Katie Vick. So there you go! Every thirtysomething wrestling fan friend I know hated that decision.
 
For what it is worth, I'm a thirtysomething who was a fan of Taker going back to his Mean Mark Callous days. I was waiting in anticipation for Survivor Series 1990 (since pretty much everybody knew who the mystery partner would be) and was blown away with the character we got.

Been saying for months that Gabriel should be the next person to drink the Wyatt Kool-Aid.

Also, to stay on topic of the show... this was a top tier Mania for sure, maybe Top 3. Everything on it was either great, extremely memorable, or had AJ Lee in it.
 
I would probably have it at around #4 (behind XVII, X, and III) for right now. It had lots of good matches and historic moments, but that lack of one true all-time classic match hurts it a bit. It is still great, but it isn't the best.

Also I'm going to go ahead and say they need to keep the title on AJ for as long as they possibly can. The fact that the divas were in the biggest dead spot ever following Undertaker losing The Streak and there's 14 of them in there so it's extremely hard for anyone to be noticed and yet AJ and to a much lesser extent the Bellas and Naomi were able to get the crowd back into things towards the end of the match... that's seriously amazing to me. I don't think even Trish or Lita at their hottest point could've got that crowd going under those circumstances.
 
I was amazed when the crowd started popping for the Bellas' spots.
 
So after reflecting on last night here are my thoughts.

Daniel Bryan.. what can you say, he got his Wrestlemania moment, looked awesome in doing so.... nothing you can bitch about there other than the round about way they took to get there, but at this point... I'm just enjoying it. He and HHH had a great match and ... I give credit to HHH for playing a perfect heel these last few months, and laying down clean when the time came. Batista/Orton/Bryan also had an awesome triple threat that really picked up toward the end, had just the right amount of overbooking to make it work.

Lesnar beating Taker... not often you are legit shocked at something in wrestling. That was legit shocking. I'm sure Taker had the final call on losing though, so I can't be mad. Plus it really puts Lesnar in a good spot. Hopefully they capitalize on it. Would love to see Brock chase Bryan for a bit. I didn't get caught up in the streak as much as some did though. The match wasn't great, but I think what it symbolized worked, it was basically a young(er) guy taking an older guy who need to be put down behind the shed and putting him down. Taker didn't even get much offense, Lesnar dismantled him, so symbolic wise I think it worked, and was a good way for the streak to end and Taker ride off into the sunset.


The Shield/NAO match. Yes would have liked the shield to have been in a higher profile match, but again I think the story conveyed worked. A changing of the guard so to say. This was a squash, it was basically the Shield taking out NAO and putting to bed the attitude era etc. Again match wasn't perfect, but storyline wise I think it worked well.

Cesaro... dude looked like a million bucks during both matches. Strap the rocket to his back. He rules.

Wyatt/Cena. I thought last night the wrong guy went over. Looking back... I get why they had Cena go over. Wyatt didn't give two shits about winning that match. He was there to try to get Cena to embrace his evil side, and it almost worked. Wyatt still came out looking strong in the end, and they can have a rematch at Extreme Rules where Wyatt can push at Cena more to go to the dark side.

Divas match.. meh whatever. Just kind of there. GLad AJ won and it wasn't as awful as it could have been

The filler stuff was kept to a minimum, the opening segment with Rock/Austin/Hogan just went the right amount of time, and you could tell all 3 had fun doing it.

The last few years we have had WM's that have been poorly paced and matches that mean not much. I think last night was a HUGE step in the right direction.
 
Cena might not have embraced evil by hitting Wyatt with the chair, but he did hit Rowan with it and he attacked each of them other times. I think except for a quick distraction from Rowan, neither of them did anything that would warrant him diving onto them outside of the ring and then ramming Harper through the barricade. And you can basically assume that if Rowan wouldn't have jumped up there that he was going to smack Wyatt in the head. He sure as hell looked like that's where he was going before he just ran through it and hit Rowan.
 
The more I think about... I'm glad it was Brock who ended The Streak. My friend who was disappointed in this show wishes it could've been a young guy who is there full time like Cesaro or Reigns and while imaging Cesaro saying fuck this bullshit to Taker's spots like Old School and then he goes on a Euro Uppercut rampage on an old worn out Taker makes me wish I got to see that match... I'm glad it wasn't a full time guy on the roster because I'd have no faith in WWE handling the situation with 7 hours of TV needing to be produced each week. This way it sort of just sets in with Brock and now it's instant credibility whenever he shows up now which he's needed badly ever since the HHH feud and having to go toe to toe with Punk.

That last point needs to be echoed (ha!) again.

Lesnar has a great chance at keeping his mystique alive simply due to his schedule. Can you trust this company to protect a guy like Cesaro or Reigns with the way they embrace even-steven booking?

Dire #Wrestlemania. The Shield was utterly wasted in a squash match, battle royales are always lame and we had two of them. Bray/Cena wasn't even a match, more the ending of Return of the Jedi with sweaty idiots, and Taker/Brock was an unmitigated disaster. The Daniel Bryan plot was the only thing that kept anyone watching to the end, and even that became a clusterfuck of hilarious proportions. The troll in me loved the shock/horror, but Taker's loss was a waste that will cast a pall over the show and several careers.

Serious question: Has Spoony ever enjoyed any show, ever? I'm not sure what he he's looking for in what he watches, or why.

But for real though, I'm happy Brock broke the streak. Brock fucking rules.

Yeah for real... AND seeing Taker go out that way, I now can't wait until Grumpy Old Veteran Battle Torn Lariat Throwin' John Cena runs into his version of Brock who destroys him for most of the match and beats him at Mania.
 
I can't believe people still listen to his opinions on wrestling. Funnily enough, I was on his forum the night he got canned from that TGWTG and the reaction was great. They have a mod who makes HTQ look sane at points.
 
I take back everything I disliked about Michael Cole in his douche pro-Miz character with how great his reactions to Bryan last night were. Like I said before, it really felt like I was back in 1999 listening to Foley win his first title.
 
When Triple H came out with "THAT DAMN CROOKED REF," my brother and I started cracking up. Cole went hard yesterday.
