That was such good wrestling television. Honky Tonk was an immaculate heel. The Hart Foundation played key roles in the angle that both turned Macho face and formed the Mega Powers but, with HTM as a heel sponge absorbing heat, they could still transition towards their own babyface turn just months later.
This is almost a year after WM3 and Andre's incredible effort in a match he probably shouldn't have been in. He, again, has a better performance than seemingly possible, in front of even more eyes than WM.
All the managers play their roles perfectly. Miss Elizabeth, Jimmy Hart, Heenan, Virgil.
And the other ingredient that makes this such a good TV show, and put so much of that era over, is Mean Gene. Considering this in a movie lens and, while the writing was often good but never perfect, McMahon's 'casting' was pitch perfect at times, especially with Okerlund.
