So far, two games are in the books while a third is closed to being finished. I figure I'll go ahead and post up the story I wrote up for the dynasty site:

There were questions coming into this season as to whether or not Texas could run the ball effectively; something it hadn't done in the previous two seasons. All those questions were put to rest as UT's Foshwitt "Fozzy" Whitaker took a hand-off from Gilbert on the Longhorns'(1-0) opening play from scrimmage seventy-three yards to give them the early seven to zero lead over the Rice Owls (0-1).

Garret Gilbert and Sherrod Harris would put up respectable numbers between their combined twenty-two passing attempts but the day belonged to the three-headed monster that was Whitaker, (Tre) Newton and (Chris) Whaley.

The three young men who had questions lobbed their way during the off-season as to their conditioning, their quiet displeasure of playing in a spread offense and to Whitaker, whether or not he'd be able to hold on to the ball this season; seemed to silence all critics as combined they ran for a staggering three-hundred twenty six yards on twenty four carries. Whitaker who carried the ball for the entire first half was sat down early in the third quarter where Tre Newton; who had recently lost his starting position to Whitaker during pre-season, did the best he could with his limited playing time as on only seven carries he gained one-hundred seventeen yards with two touchdowns. Whaley would come in during the fourth to add a touchdown on eighty three yards rushing.

The Longhorn defense was anchored by Junior Defensive Tackle, Kheeston Randell who would have a total of nine tackles with six for loss and three sacks. Freshman Cornerback Carrington Byndom would get in on the scoring bonanza late in the game as he would intercept a pass from an injured but gamey Nick Fanuzzi (11-25 / 160yds / 1 TD / 1 INT) late in the fourth quarter.

Next up for the Longhorns will be a trip to Hawai'i as they'll look to keep their momentum going against the Warriors who'll no doubt want to make impressions of their own on a what they hope to be a team looking ahead to a showdown in Lubbock.

Final score: UT 77 - Rice 7

I am gonna do this for fun after every game for all to read. (My old gamertag was attached to my EA ID, and since I don't have that GT anymore, I can't access the website. So this will have to do for now until I can figure something out.)

The Texas Tech Red Raiders looked to open their 2010 season in grand style, but the Southern Methodist Mustangs had other ideas. During the first half, the Red Raiders could not stop the Mustangs run 'n shoot attack as they jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter and led 17-7 at halftime. At the half, Texas Tech coach Tommy Tuberville rallied his troops and put on what was an amazing second half, as the Red Raiders outscored the Mustangs 31-7 to not only come from behind, but to seal the game and eventually win by a score of 38-24.

It wasn't easy for the Red Raiders as they had to rally from a deficit that was as large as 24-7. When things looked lost, the Red Raiders defensive coordinator began to dial up more blitzes. This proved to be effective as Texas Tech recorded 6 sacks on the day, 3 of which came from their secondary. Senior strong safety Franklin Mitchem led the way with 2 sacks to go along with 6 total tackles and 5 solo tackles. Sophomore CB Eugene Neboh, Sophomore free safety Cody Davis and defensive ends Jackson Richards and Ryan Haliburton also contributed in forcing SMU Sophomore QB Kyle Padron to eat turf.

SMU also turned the ball over 6 times by fumbling twice and being intercepted 4 times by Texas Tech's defense. Of the six turnovers, 5 of which were forced in the second half.

Texas Tech was led by senior QB Taylor Potts who went 15/23 passing for 232 yards, 4 touchdowns and 1 interception. They were also boosted by RB Baron Batch who rushed 17 times for 69 yards and caught 7 passes for 87 yards.

SMU was led by their QB Kyle Padron completed 30 of 45 passes for 425 yards and 2 touchdowns while throwing the 4 interceptions.

Texas Tech looks to keep their momentum going next week as they face the New Mexico Lobos in Lubbock as they prepare for a key early season Big XII opening showdown with in-state rival Texas who will certainly be keeping their eye on the Red Raiders leading up to the match up in week 3 of the 2010 season.

I didn't keep up with the stats, but The University of Houston disposed of an FCS team with little effort, 56-10. Case Keenum threw for 457 yards and 6 TDs as the Cougars spent much of the 2nd half trying out the playbook on both sides of the ball. Good warm up heading into week 2.

Got my game in won pretty easily 27-7. Lewis is a beast. Here is the recap I wrote on the dynasty site.

Dorsett? Martin? McCoy? ... now Lewis?

Dion Lewis is another in the long history of highly touted runningbacks to come from the Univeristy of Pittsburgh. After his sensational Freshman season last year, many thought he might hit a sophmore slump.

Well... so far... so good.

Lewis rushed for 154 yards on 23 carries, and scored two touchdowns in Pittsburgh's dominating 27-7 win over the Utah Utes, in Utah.

Many thought the Panthers would fail in their first game. A cross country tip, national TV, boisterous crowd. Those thoughts were erased quickly. With the Panthers relying on first time starter Tino Sunseri at QB their gameplan was to run, run and run some more.

Lewis had no trouble carrying the load, amassing over 100 yards before it was even halftime. Anytime the Panthers needed to settle down and take pressure off their QB, Dion Lewis was there to do just that. The few times that Lewis had to come out of the game, his fellow teammate Ray Graham picked up the slack running the football, scoring a TD in the process.

Sunseri didn't have his best game, but made plays when he had to, and limited his mistakes though the Utes only score came on a fumble by Sunseri as he was getting sacked.

All in all it was a good solid game for the Panthers. They made they plays they had to and got a solid road win. Up next is a game against a FCS team, before their showdown in Miami with the 'Canes.

I'm only a 3 star school, (which was exactly what I was looking for when I was picking a team) so I'm not exactly anything special yet either. Plus, I nearly shit the bed against SMU

Status update:

Tomorrow (Monday) I should have my internet back up. Long story short is I was without power for two and a half days, once I got my power on, I found out my internet was out. AT&T charged me $100 dollars for a new modem they told me would be free. So I've been having to scrape up the money to pay that back bit off.

I am sorry for the delay in everything and if people want to drop out, I'll understand. Once my net goes back up, I'll advance and get things moving again. I'd have done it from the website but the page won't load the log-in pop-up in my apt's business center.

Texas Tech would like to welcome the newest additions to the Red Raider family.

DT Patrick Harrison **** - 6'1, 265 lbs, Aransas Pass, TX
T Dominic Johnson *** - 6'7, 290 lbs, Nacogdoches, TX

This is a great start for the Texas Tech Red Raiders as they continue their 2010 season and their recruiting efforts throughout the season as well as into the offseason.

Note - This is only part of my recruiting for Week 2. I will be finishing the rest as well as my game (vs New Mexico) later tonight.

I don't think I've landed anyone yet, so good job Bond.

Did my recruiting and game today. Played Hawai'i and the game was a lot closer than what the final score would lead one to believe.

Next up will be the Horns heading up to Lubbock and looking to notch a win over an inter-state rival.

Eh, my recruiting's not going great so far, and did I just lay a shitbomb against UTEP. I couldn't do crap against them on the run (man does the UH O-line STINK) and they dropped enough in to coverage to make passing difficult except for a couple of bombs. Not happy about the effort. Might be a long season after what was a good start.

Well, what I did was just offer scholarships to a couple of guys who have my school at #1 on their list.

I took the suggestion/idea from the other thread and it worked pretty well. Beats having to schedule visits.

**POST GAME REPORT**

Texas Tech aerial attack, defense, too much for Lobos.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders followed up their week 1 come-from-behind victory over SMU by destroying the New Mexico Lobos by a score of 59-0. The first quarter was held scoreless by both teams, but it wasn't until the 2nd quarter that the points started lighting up the scoreboards. Texas Tech scored a very impressive 35 points in the 2nd quarter as they cruised from there to a 59-0 final score.

Led by senior QB Taylor Potts, the Red Raiders threw the ball 23 of 28 times for almost 330 yards and 3 touchdowns. 7 catches, 154 yards and a touchdown of which went to junior receiver Tramain Swindell. Not to be outdone by the passing game, the Red Raider ground game also churned out 164 yards on a combined 26 carries for 3 touchdowns. Texas Tech's run game was led by senior RB Byron Batch who rushed 21 times for 121 yards and 2 TDs, while catching 9 times for 54 yards and a touchdown.

Texas Tech's offense finished the game with 491 yards of total offense, while converting 6 of 9 on third down, and also executing perfectly on all 4 of their drives in the red zone.

The Texas Tech defense also did their part by not only shutting out the Lobos, but by also forcing 3 turnovers. They forced 2 fumbles and picked off New Mexico quarterback B R Holbrook once.

The Red Raider defense also contributed to the team's efforts by holding New Mexico to only 120 yards of total offense and held them to 0-8 on third down attempts.

Next up for the Red Raiders will be a very important early season Big XII matchup at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock against in-state rival Texas who look poised and ready for this showdown coming off of their 49-17 defeat of Hawaii.

Good, I look forward to cursing you out when my WR's drop wide open passes and my DB's fail to stop your defense at any point in the game.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders headed into Week 3 with an important early season Big XII showdown with in-state rival Texas. On this day, the Red Raiders were hoping for a huge statement by upsetting the #2 ranked Longhorns. It wasn't to be, as the Red Raiders were defeated by a margin of 27-14. Dropped passes, as well as a key turnover in the red zone, and porous run defense all helped contribute to the demise of Texas Tech.

It was 27-7 late in the 4th, but Tech managed to get a score to make it look somewhat respectable, but the way they played was far from that.

On the defensive side of the ball, Tech was gashed by the Texas rush attack to the tune of 254 yards on 32 carries for 2 touchdowns. Texas Tech gave up 242 yards rushing to sophomore running back Chris Whaley alone who averaged an amazing 11.5 yards per rush. Whaley hands down won player of the game on this day in Lubbock.

On the offense, the Texas Tech Air Raid attack only managed to convert 2 of 7 third downs, while somehow managing 10 first downs.

Missed opportunities sum up Tech's day on the offense.

Next up, the Red Raiders look to bounce back from this loss by taking their week 4 bye to rest, heal injuries and prepare for their next showdown which is against the Iowa State Cyclones in Ames, Iowa at Jack Trice Stadium.

Good game, Broward, you flat out whooped my ass. No bullshit about it.

Sorry it took me a bit longer than expected to get back online for my game.

Anyway, since I'm not of the flowery journalistic bent, I'll just say that the Cougars travelled to Los Angeles and beat the crap out of UCLA to the tune of 48-7. The team looked totally different from the one who played a lackluster game against UTEP. Case Keenum took it easy for most of the 2nd half and still finished 20-36 for 314 yards and 3 TDs, no INTs for a nice tidy 156.3 passer rating. The running game decided to make an appearance, with Bryce Bell carrying the ball 19 times for 103 yards and 2 TDs. Defensively, the Cougars allowed an early touchdown drive then shut down the Bruins, aided by 4 turnovers (3 fumbles, 1 INT). All in all and excellently played game and a positive turn heading into next week's game against Tulane.

In other news, the Cougars would also like to welcome the first two commitments to the recruiting class:

Edward Davis - *** QB, 6'5" 206 lbs. out of Dallas, Texas, #33 QB nationally
Alex Mcintyre - *** MLB, 6'1" 249 lbs from Aldine, Texas, #19 MLB nationally

P.S. Shows you how much I pay attention to my schedule. Just noticed I finished up my regular season against you, Bond. Ugh.

I didn't quite realize that until after I played my game against Texas. I was looking and saw I played against another human opponent.

Regardless though, see you at the end.
