E3 2013 is on and it’s time to GET EXCITE~! Earlier today we were live-tweeting the festivities, beginning with Microsoft’s XBOX conference! Below is the complete run-down of everything that was announced during the 90 minute presentation – enjoy! [UPDATE] Before we get to the games. Everyone was clamoring to find out about the price and release date of the XBOX ONE. Microsoft announced that info last.. but we’re going to give it to you first. 🙂Â
Microsoft has announced that the XBOX ONE will retail at a price-point of $499 USD (£429 in the UK and €499 in European markets) and will be available in-stores this November!
What’s in the booooox?!
- XBOX ONE console with 500GB hard drive
- Blu-ray drive and Wi-Fi included in console
- Kinect peripheral
- Xbox One Wireless Controller
- Free 14-day trial of Xbox Live Gold
Microsoft also plans to release a limited edition commemorative bundle for pre-orders made at major retailers. Encased in in premium black packaging with a limited edition XBOX ONE Day One wireless controller, the bundle also includes access to an exclusive “Day One” achievement, as well as bonus items for several XBOX ONE games, such as:
- Ryse: Son of Rome – Exclusive multiplayer map and sword with bonus attributes.
- Forza Motorsport 5 – Access to four cars tuned to the top of their class.
- Kinect Sports Rivals – Exclusive sporting equipment that separates your Champion from the rest of the world.
- Dead Rising 3 –Â Exclusive Frank West and Chuck Greene Tribute Packs with bonus attributes.
Onto the conference!
- Konami’s Hideo Kojima treated us to some video footage of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. This marks the first time we’ve heard Kiefer Sutherland in his new role of Snake (aka Big Boss/Naked Snake).
- Microsoft announced a newer slimline model of the XBOX 360. The new model goes on sale today and will be available in all of the current configurations: $199 4 GB version; $299 250 GB bundle and $299 4GB bundle w/ Kinect.
- MS also revealed that XBOX Gold members will receive two FREE game downloads per month! This promotion kicks off with Assassin’s Creed 2 and Halo 3.
- World of Tanks was announced for the 360 as a free to play game.
- Max the Curse of Brotherhood was also announced for the 360.
- We saw a brand new trailer for Dark Souls 2:
- Ryse: Son of Rome, Crimson Dragon, the long awaited Killer Instinct reboot and Sunset Overdrive were all announced as an XBOX ONE exclusives.
- Forza 5, Minecraft and Quantum Break were all extensively shown for the XBOX ONE.
- Deadly Premonition developer Swery65’s new game, D4, was announced as an XBOX One exclusive.
- Project Spark was live-demoed onstage, showing off both Kinect and SmartGlass functionality.
- MS also showed off Upload Studio – functionality built into the XBOX ONE which allows gamers to capture and upload game play footage – directly to Twitch!
- Dead Rising 3 was also announced by Capcom Vancouver as an XBOX ONE exclusive. It’s out this Holiday Season.
- We saw a new trailer for Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – also coming to XBOX ONE.
- Battlefield 4 was shown off in some dramatic game play footage at sea. The first DLC will be a timed exclusive for XBOX ONE.
- Below, a new indy game developed by Capy, was annouced as exclusive for XBOX ONE.
- Microsoft announced that they have acquired several new studios, and that one of them is Black Tusk. Black Tusk will be creating games exclusively for XBOX ONE.
- Halo 5 received a teaser trailer.
- Respawn Entertainment’s new XBOX ONE exclusive game, Titanfall, was shown off in an extensive trailer mixing cinematics and gameplay:
