Before getting to the live vote, we got to see the fallout from the last power of veto meeting. Paola was ticked of course that she got screwed over. Brittany didn’t feel bad about making a backroom deal at all because she knew Paola betrayed her. Paola admitted that Devin asked her to throw the competition but claimed she didn’t go through with it.
Zach decided at that point to rip into Devin in front of everyone. He let everyone know that his goal in the house was to get Devin out. Zach assumed that would put most people on his side. The problem is that he threw some of his alliance buddies under the bus while making his point. Frankie in particular took offense and lost some trust for Zach.
With Zach on the outs with the Bomb Squad, Devin looked for a replacement. The person tagged to fill that role was Hayden. Hayden took the offer but in reality, he wanted to blow up the Bomb Squad from within. As for Zach, he continued to try and do damage control. A couple of his partners still wanted to keep him around, but not because they loved the guy. They figured a war between Devin and Zach would keep the focus off themselves.
The second live eviction finally got started. It wasn’t a unanimous decision like the first eviction, but it was still a wide margin of 10-2 in favor of Zach staying and Paola getting evicted. Jocasta and Donny were the only two to try and save Paola. Donny didn’t vote in line with his Team America teammates like he agreed to, but picked his friend instead.
When Paola left the house to speak with Julie, she expressed regret for trusting Devin. She didn’t know why she made the decisions she did, but definitely had no love lost for Devin and Zach. She was rooting for Jocasta and Donny to make it the furthest in the game.
The third HOH game was called Underwater Polo. No actual water involved, but this competition did resemble a game of polo (or croquet). Everyone hit one ball down an obstacle course into a numbered slot. The two highest scores would be the two new HOHs. This was about as non-physical and non-mental a contest as possible, so it was anyone’s game to win. It was also a harder competition to throw, if anyone was so inclined.
Nicole hit her ball into the 29 slot, which was the highest number possible. Frankie was in second place for awhile with a score of 24. It held up until the very last person went. Most people just hit the ball randomly, but Derrick tried to strategically hit his ball in the 28 slot. He successfully made his shot, making him and Nicole the new HOHs.
