It’s down to the final three on Big Brother. Derrick’s moves in the house have placed him in a great position. Even if he doesn’t win the final HOH, he’s confident that Cody or Victoria will take him to the final two. Despite Cody revealing the Hitmen deal with Derrick, Victoria believes she’s Derrick’s preferred choice to sit next to him in the final two.
As for Cody, he was reeling a bit from evicting Caleb. It was tough for him to go against one of his friends in the house. Also, Cody feared that he lost a potential jury vote because Caleb would still be mad at him. And with that, we move from the previous week’s fallout to the fluff of the episode.
You know how some regular TV shows have flashback episodes that usually serve as filler? Well, even reality shows have them. A big chunk of the hour was spent looking back at the previous 90 days. Cody, Derrick, and Victoria were treated a nice breakfast. At the table, they reflected on making the final three and the journey it took to get there. Using obviously canned lines, they opined about the various houseguests and events in the house.
It started off with a recap of the Bomb Squad. As it turned out, the formation of that alliance led to Derrick and Cody becoming close. As Devin sunk his own ship, the lower-ranking members of the Bomb Squad were able to stealthily do their own thing and take control of the game.
Most of the other highlights were of things we already saw, but we can run through them anyways. There were the complicated showmances (Hayden/Nicole, Caleb/Amber, Zach/Frankie), the fights (Zach vs. Frankie, Caleb vs. Frankie, Zach vs. Everyone), and the funnies (Victoria’s competition bloopers, Caleb’s dubious ninja skills, multiple pranks).
Donny and Nicole were featured as two people who were well-liked, but also two people who had to fight uphill battles to stay in the game. One segment that didn’t air on TV was the introduction of Izzy, a dog who served as the BB mascot. Izzy didn’t last long though, as it was “evicted” in a short time. These highlights may have been exciting for those who hadn’t been following this season as closely, but they were fairly mundane for everyone else.
We did get to see the beginning of the final HOH competition however. For those who don’t know, the final HOH takes place in three parts. All three houseguests compete in the first round. Whoever wins automatically advances to the third and deciding round. The second round is comprised of the two losers from the first round. Whoever wins that also gets to play in the third round.
The first part of the last HOH was called Fly High or Bye-Bye. This was a simple endurance game. Each person stood on an angled ledge while grabbing onto a hang glider. Rain poured down on the competitors to add to the difficulty. The last person standing would win. While the episode aired before the competition ended, the feeds do reveal that Cody was the winner of round one.
There’s only one episode left of Big Brother. On Wednesday, we’ll find out how the rest of the HOH competition plays out, who makes it to the final two, and who the jury votes for to win Big Brother and the $500,000 grand prize. The rest of the game may seem like a foregone conclusion to many, but you never truly know with Big Brother.
