BB16: Live Eviction #5 and HOH #6

The Amber and Caleb relationship has arguably caused the most drama in the Big Brother house. Funny enough, they’ve been two of the more clueless players in the game. Both of them think the Bomb Squad is still active, even though it’s been dead for ages.

The sad reality is that the Detonators rule the house, and Amber and Caleb are their pawns. By time they figure anything out, it may be too late, as Amber is already on the block. Caleb could be out the door not long after that, or he’ll just be kept around until the real power alliance has no more use for him.

Jocasta was assured that she was safe, but she knew that anything could happen during the voting process. Christine was one of the few who was open to saving Amber and voting out Jocasta. She felt getting rid of Amber would not be good for her game. Christine went to the rest of the Detonators and argued that Amber was going after Caleb, not the rest of them. Her reasoning fell on deaf ears however.

Meanwhile, Team America’s secret mission would play out live, as their new task was to vote against the majority of the house and then blame two others for the dissenting votes. The mission was easy enough to execute; the problem was doing it and not having your game blow up as a result.

Derrick and Frankie were down for doing it, and they figured blaming Zach and Caleb would be the way to go. However, Donny wanted to play a clean game and didn’t want to go through with it. Frankie was not allowed to vote as HOH, so Donny would have to make a non-majority vote along with Derrick as part of the mission requirements.

When it came time for the live vote, Donny refused to accept the mission, so he voted for Amber to be evicted. Derrick, knowing that Donny wasn’t going to play ball, also voted for Amber. Everyone else went the expected way and voted for Amber’s eviction. Another shutout vote was in the books, this time resulting in Amber having to depart the house. Our long national nightmare was finally over, as the Amber/Caleb saga came to a close.

Amber told Julie during the post-eviction interview that she felt betrayed by Caleb and Cody the most. She believed the women didn’t rally together because they were saving themselves. Amber described herself as trustworthy, which is why she didn’t blow up anyone’s game while going out the door. She still wanted to prove her loyalty to those who doubted her sincerity. Amber did admit that the one-way relationship with Caleb affected her game.

For the next HOH competition, everyone was prepped by being shown loops of previous events in the house. When it was time for the actual competition, called “Getting Loopy”,  everyone was asked true or false questions related to the clips shown. After 12 questions, only Hayden, Donny, Zach, Caleb, and Nicole were left. Unfortunately, the live broadcast ended before the game ended.

For those who checked social media or the live feeds, you could find out the winners not long after the network broadcast. The final two standing tall in this HOH competition were Nicole and Donny. Neither of them are part of the major alliances, so this could be the best chance for power to shift from the Detonators to the rest of the house.
