The houseguests were in the midst of a long, grueling head of household competition. As mentioned before, the objective was to transfer water from a pool to a large snowman’s head. The water was being carried in small, plastic shovels, so the water levels were rising at a snail’s pace. This was all being contested on a slippery surface that got worse as the game progressed.
As outgoing HOH, Cody got to sit back and relax as everyone else struggled to finish the race. But he still felt stressed because he needed Caleb or Derrick to win to give him peace of mind. The person who needed a victory the most was Nicole, who was now completely alone after Donny’s eviction. Not only that, she learned that Frankie campaigned at the last minute to evict her instead of Donny.
Unfortunately for Nicole, the HOH victory went to Caleb, who barely edged out Christine. Meanwhile, Derrick earned the 5,000 “dollas” and 5,000 “hollas” by filling the smaller snowman’s head. Every participant looked like they went the full 12 rounds afterwards. People were bruised, sore, cramped, exhausted, and so on. Caleb literally had to be carried to the diary room. This could affect some of the players going forward if there are more physical challenges remaining.
The Detonators/Bomb Squad has morphed into a boys club as of late. In addition to Nicole, they also are targeting one of their own in Christine. This was very predictable, as the guys have banded together from jump street. Meanwhile, Christine is still viewed as a floater, and no one fully knows where her loyalties are. During the HOH contest, Nicole gave Christine a tip to help her out. Frankie overheard it, and of course told everyone. Now, the boys really had a reason to be suspicious of Christine.
Frankie and Derrick were in a good position in the game, but they were still bitter over failing the last Team America mission. They blamed Donny for Team America not being more of a success (to be fair, Donny did opt out of a task, but it was still petty for the other two to denigrate him like they did). Frankie was especially haughty, saying that he didn’t give a damn what America thought about him. Maybe the stress of the game was getting to him, cause he really became ornery. Frankie later got Christine’s case about her being friendly with Nicole.
Nicole figured she had nothing to lose, so she went up to Caleb to hopefully recruit him to her side. She tried downplaying her abilities as a player, but Caleb saw right through her. Caleb also let Nicole know that there was talk of her working with Christine. Nicole denied, but she knew that she said too much already.
Usually the have-nots are only a footnote for each week. But this go-around had more drama than usual. Derrick volunteered to be a have-not to help diffuse any blowback he might have received from taking the money in the HOH competition. No one else was willing to take one for the team though.
Frankie was the only person who hadn’t been on slop more than once, but no one called him out on that. Caleb ended up picking Nicole as the other have-not. Nicole became quite upset, not only because she would now be on slop two weeks in a row, but also because it was just another reminder of how alone she was since coming back from the jury house.
Caleb and Cody discussed potential nominees. They were unsure about putting Christine on block because she was capable. They brought up Frankie, pointing out that he had lied about numerous things and had just become annoying in general. Cody believed that Frankie was skating by and wondered how long he needed to be kept around.
Christine felt confident that the nominees would be Victoria and Nicole. She got a rude awakening however, when Caleb put her and Nicole on the block. Christine’s only consolation was the knowledge that she wasn’t the number one target. Of course Nicole wasn’t surprised, but she vowed to stop whining about her misfortunes and fight back to stay in the house. As for Caleb, he felt that these nominations were the best for his game. Now Nicole is in Donny’s old spot, being forced to win the veto to survive one more week.
