BB16: Power of Veto #6

Zach was down in dumps after losing Battle of the Block. He knows that his abrasive gameplay style makes him a big target. The power of veto is more crucial for him than anyone else in the house.

Jocasta has been on the block four times already. Of course she wants to win the veto, but she has no other contingency plan other than pure faith. Jocasta’s main issue is that she hasn’t been playing the game. Now, sometimes players like her can slip through the cracks and go far in this game. But in her case, she’s going to get dumped sooner rather than later.

Even though Victoria and Caleb won BOB, they still had to accept their punishments. Caleb was already on slop when the punishment went down, so an extra two weeks of slop was certainly going to make him crabbier. He also had to get all his perfect (according to him) hair cut off. But the worst part for Caleb was being tied to the “nincompoop” Victoria for 48 hours. There’s definitely no love lost between those two, so being together all the time only served to add to their misery.

Nicole took her place as the first female of the season to be the sole HOH. After the BOB, Frankie went to Nicole again to try and extract information from her. She refused to bite, but did learn that Frankie was open to getting rid of Zach.

One more damn alliance was in the making as Nicole, Hayden, Cody, and Derrick gathered together. They called themselves The Rationale (which sounds like a third-rate wrestling stable), rationalizing that they’re rational people. Their objective was either to evict Zach, or backdoor Frankie if Zach got saved. If they were going to backdoor Frankie, however, they had to make sure there were enough votes to evict him or else everyone would be screwed.

Christine is another person who wants Zach gone, He put her up on the block previously, so she’s out for blood. Christine tried to cozy up to Nicole by suggesting backdooring Cody or Derrick. She also told a rumor that Hayden and Victoria made out. Christine’s statements set off major red flags for Nicole. After consulting with Hayden, Nicole knew that Christine was lying.

Christine has actually been a low-key hater this season, always dogging on everyone else behind their backs. It seems as if playing all sides of the house is finally backfiring on her. Nicole went back to The Rationale alliance to let them know that Christine could not be trusted.

The veto competitors this time were: Nicole, Jocasta, Zach, Caleb, Christine, and Victoria. The game of the day was BB Comic. There was a wall set of with comics depicting all 16 Big Brother houseguests. Each player had to zipline past the wall and try to memorize the comic book covers. After dropping from the line, everyone had to recreate the wall by arranging the comic book covers in the correct order. There was a 35-minute time limit.

What made the competition more difficult was that there were extra covers in the pile that had minor differences. That tripped up some people, costing them valuable time. Zach got so pissed about not getting the right combination that he raged out and flung one of the placards. It sounded like he might’ve hit a piece of equipment when he did it. Zach broke down afterwards when he realized his time wasn’t going to cut it. At the end, Christine finished with the fastest time of 11 minutes, 50 seconds.

No one had a clue what Christine was going to do with the power of veto. Zach and Jocasta were both confident in their safety even if the veto wasn’t used. Christine decided using the veto was too risky, and opted to keep the nominees the same. However she still wanted to see Zach evicted. Nicole was disappointed because Frankie was her main target. But, she was content with Zach still being on the block.

Next up is the double eviction episode, which is a crowd favorite whenever Big Brother brings it out. After Zach or Jocasta gets evicted, the game turns to sending two more people home. A week’s worth of gameplay is crammed into a single, hour-long episode. This is a real chance for the house to get completely flipped over.
