WWF Monday Night RAW
February 6th, 1995 (Taped January 23rd, 1995)
From The Manatee Civic Center in Palmetto, Florida
Announcers: Vince McMahon & Shawn Michaels
Show opens with footage of last week’s Over The Top Rope match between Mabel and King Kong Bundy. The Million Dollar Corporation screwed Mabel out of the win. This week Mabel teams up with his best buddy Mo, and Lex Luger to try and get revenge against Bundy, Tatanka, and IRS!
Shawn Michaels dances to the MOM theme. “The Bad Guy” Razor Ramon is in action plus an exclusive interview with WWF World Champion Diesel. Shawn Michaels pops a bubblegum bubble in Vince’s face (complete with goofy sound effect added in post production)
Wow. Weird production error during MOM’s entrance. What a show so far.
The Million Dollar Corporation (King Kong Bundy, Tatanka, and IRS) (with Ted DiBiase) Vs Lex Luger and Men on a Mission (with Oscar)
Shawn Michaels is acting like a jackass, basically saying “Who cares about any of these guys? I won the Royal Rumble!” So he’s basically acting like he probably did in real life at the time. IRS has The Undertaker’s urn and Undertaker hasn’t been the same ever since the MDC’s stole his urn. HBK says it’s tax season! IRS shouldn’t have to wrestle. Babyfaces have the advantage until Mo tries to slam Bundy like an idiot and the announcers even point how stupid that was. No wonder why you only lasted a second in the Rumble, Mo!
Shawn Michaels just wants to see the two big guys fight. Was Vince whispering lines in his ear? I kind of dig HBK as a commentator. I think this is the last we’ll see of him in the booth for the year as he was on to somewhat better things. He has a good bit calling Mo an idiot for running into Tatanka’s knees after Tatanka knees Mo in the back while Mo runs into the ropes.
Does it shock anyone that Mo plays the face in peril in this match? Or that Oscar starts a big “Let’s Go Mo” chant?
Anyway, this match isn’t bad, considering the participants and the crowd seems really into it.. Luger slams Bundy on his tubby rear but Tatanka nails Luger with a DDT to give the Million Dollar Corporation the win.
We get an interview with Man Mountain Rock. He calls Jeff Jarrett a, “jerk.” Wrestling’s a lot like playing guitar! It requires concentration! Man Mountain Rock’s willing to do whatever it takes to win the WWF World Title. *snickers* Man Mountain Rock’s debut is next!
But first, a statement from Lawrence Taylor’s manager Bobby Cupo. Cupo says LT accepts Bam Bam’s apology. As for the challenge, LT has a lot of respect for the stars of the World Wrestling Federation but he doesn’t want to get in the ring. If Bam Bam keeps disparaging LT’s good name then LT will have to take legal action.
Man Mountain Rock Vs Charlie Hunter
Michaels tells McMahon to stop headbanging or his toupee will fall off. Michaels and McMahon say Man Mountain Rock was an All American amateur wrestler at Iowa State. Rock’s matching tie dye cutoff and pajama pants outfit doesn’t exactly scream “hard rocker”. Even HBK calls him out for having ugly tights. And when HBK is calling you out for ugly tights… Man Mountain gets the win with a front suplex. Man Mountain Rock is proof why WWF should never consciously try to be hip.
Yesterday on The Action Zone, Diesel defeated Owen Hart in a title match but during his victory celebration, Shawn Michaels wandered out and stared down Big Daddy Cool.
We get a sitdown interview from WWF Studios in Stamford, CT with the World Champ Diesel. Diesel doesn’t know what Shawn Michaels’ problem is. See, Nash is a pretty good babyface when he’s acting like himself here but WWF tried to turn him too much into a cartoon character. That’s what doomed Diesel’s World Title run.
Speaking of how lame Diesel’s run we get a montage of Diesel hanging out with celebrities. Vince mentions Diesel hanging out with Tommy Heinsohn after a recent Celtics game at the Boston Garden but there’s no photos from that. Dang it. Would have loved to see a photo of my heroes Nash and Tommy Heinsohn together.
Back at WWF Studios ringside, Shawn Michaels says he’s not intimidated by Diesel. He’s got a new bodyguard and he’s just about to reveal who it is. Michaels takes off his sunglasses and reveals that he’s got a black eye! This can’t be happening! He needs a bodyguard.
Uh oh! Mooing sounds. That means it’s time for MANTAUR!
Mantaur (with Jim Cornette) Vs Leroy Howard
Vince says RAW will be preempted next week by the Westminster Dog Show. Once a year, the WWF goes to the DOGS! Shawn Michaels says Diesel will be there… looking for a DATE. I laugh way too hard at that line. It’s been a long week. Howard clotheslines Mantaur and Mantaur no sells it. Vince says if it was Lawrence Taylor giving Mantaur a clothesline then Mantaur would have gone down. We all can be glad that the main event of WrestleMania XI wasn’t Lawrence Taylor Vs Mantaur… Mantaur picks up the win because he isn’t facing Lawrence Taylor.
Since we’re in the lull between the Rumble and WrestleMania, Todd Pettingell hypes the WWF In High Gear house show tour. Remember when WWF hyped house shows on RAW? WWF is coming Philadelphia, Scranton, and Bethlehem! Vince McMahon says WWF is rescheduling their shows in Portland, Maine (that’s where I live!!!) and Worcester, Mass (I’ve been there! Unfortunately…) that were postponed because of a blizzard. I didn’t hit up that house show for some reason.

Razor Ramon Vs Frankie Lancaster
Former WWF Intercontinental Champion Razor Ramon comes out for his first appearance on RAW since losing the belt. He’s facing Frankie “The Thumper” Lancaster. HEY! Frankie Lancaster’s a WCW job guy not a WWF job guy! Close up of a teenybopper losing her mind over Razor Ramon. Oh man. Vince McMahon exasperatedly talks about the media’s coverage of the OJ Simpson trial out of nowhere. Shawn Michaels defends them and says he thinks the media is TOTALLY fair. Tell us how you really feel about the media, Vince… Razor wins with the Razor’s Edge.
Henry O. Godwinn Vs Bill Weaver
We’re goin’ down on the farm. Vince McMahon says HOG gave The Undertaker a run for his money on Superstars last weekend. Bill Weaver has an ugly haircut even by mid ’90s WWF job guy standards. Closeup on the contents of HOG’s slop bucket. HOW DID WCW THINK THEY COULD COMPETE WITH THIS!? Vince wonders if HOG’s favorite Looney Tune is Porky Pig. HBK says The British Bulldog’s is Elmer Fudd. Vince McMahon wonders if Henry Godwinn is Shawn Michaels’ new bodyguard. You might be able to find out who Shawn Michaels’ new bodyguard is on the WWF Superstar Line! HOG wins with the Slop Drop.
Vince McMahon & Shawn Michaels hype the next RAW in two weeks. With a heavy heart, Shawn Michaels announces his retirement from the commentary booth. Vince is flabbergasted that the #1 Contender for the WWF World Title would leave his job as a color commentator.
In two weeks on RAW…RAW returns for a LIVE episode from Macon, Georgia! In our main event, World Wrestling Federation World Champion Diesel makes his first title defense ever on RAW in as he faces off against the WWF Intercontinental Champion “Double J” Jeff Jarrett in a supermatch! Shawn Michaels will introduce his new bodyguard! Plus the return of reviled monster Scott “Bam Bam ” Bigelow and The RAW debut of The Blu Twins!
