WWE NXT  – 10/16/13

A video package highlighting the rise of Bo Dallas and feud with Sami Zayn opens the show.

The in-arena action begins with the entrance of The Ascension and the tag team champions Rick Victor and Conor O’Brian make their way to the ring for a Tag Team Title defense.

One half of the former champions, Adrian Neville, makes his way out first.

A replay airs of The Ascension’s title victory over Neville & Graves airs.

Corey Graves makes his way out next and the last champions will be getting their rematch on tonight’s show.

NXT Tag Team Championship

The Ascension (Champions) vs. Adrian Neville and Corey Graves

William Regal is back on commentary this week, giving some analysis to the win of the Ascension as Graves and Victor starts the match for their teams.

Renee Young, also on commentary, puts over how on his game Corey Graves is as he takes early control of Victor, smashing him among several turnbuckles.  Graves maintains control through a tarantula-like variation, which he breaks due to a combination of a ref count and the approaching Conor O’Brian.

Graves gets back in the ring and is able to hold Victor back enough to bring Adrian Neville in the match.  Neville takes Victor down and ascends the top, knocking back an approaching O’Brian.

Neville gets knocked to the outside and appears to have injured his knee, as The Ascension look on with glee.  O’Brian becomes the legal man and goes after Neville on the outside as NXT hits the first commercial break.

Back in action, O’Brian hovers over Neville in the corner of The Ascension.  Adrian continues to favor the injured leg and makes an escape to bring in the red-hot Corey Graves to clean house.  Corey knocks Victor of the apron and uses a flurry of unorthodox offense to take down the much bigger Conor O’Brian.  Graves locks in his Lucky 13 submission hold and Conor struggles until Victor breaks the tag.

Graves tags out and Neville limps into the ring, only to get a nasty kick to the injured leg by O’Brian.  Conor smashes Neville into the ring post and brings in his partner.  Rick Victor makes the pin for a two count.

An overconfident Victor receives a kick in the face but Victor still recovers first.  He knocks off Graves, tags Conor in and The Ascension hit their double team finisher on the Jumpin’ Jordy to retain their newly won tag titles.

Winners: The Ascension

Victor grabs the belts from the ref as The Ascension hold their belts high over the fallen Adrian Neville.

Corey Graves starts yelling at Neville still on the mat about how that was their shot and they are gone.  Neville apologizes until Graves finally pulls him to his feet.  Shortly after he gets up, Graves bounces off the ropes and assaults Neville, all the while screaming they are gone and asking Adrian what he has to say for himself.  The crowd begins to turn on Graves as he stands above his former partner.

A match graphic promotes tonight’s NXT Championship match between Dallas and Zayn.

A second graphic follows promoting a CJ Parker/Tyler Breeze match tonight.

Back in the NXT Arena, the announcers discuss the heel turn of Corey Graves before the entrance of Tyler Breeze.

CJ Parker comes out for the match that Renee Young dubs “Beauty and the Hobo”.

Tyler Breeze vs. CJ Parker

The two stare each other down before Parker makes the first move.  The unusual aggression from Parker is not enjoyed by the crowd, who chants “Fruity Pebbles” at him, while Renee Young makes reference to Saved by the Bell style cellphones.

Parker wins a shoving contest in the ring before dropping Breeze again.

Breeze pulls off a quick move and kicks Parker a few times before making sure to check himself with his phone.  He approaches the downed Parker and starts wailing with fists until Parker is all the way across the rings in the ropes.

Breeze pulls Parker to his feet, where Parker knocks Breeze back and does a rollup for a two count.

Parker knocks down Breeze, who is begging Parker to stop.  He tries to escape the ring before CJ pulls him back.  The ref is distracted by the apron that Breeze has pulled back and Breeze thumbs the eye before hitting a big spin kick for the win.

Winner: Tyler Breeze

Regal praises the villainous tactic as Breeze tries to take a selfie with Parker.  Parker fights back and once again seems uncharacteristically aggressive for “the Moon Child”.  Parker takes the phone of Breeze and takes a selfie with the only person in the crowd cheering for him.

A match graphic promoting the tag match of NXT Women’s Champion Paige and Emma versus Summer Rae and Sasha Banks.

Paige enters the NXT Arena first with the NXT Women’s Championship around her waist as Regal is fired up at Byron Saxton’s mispronunciation of Paige’s hometown.

Emma comes out dancing and attacking her bubbles.

Summer Rae comes out and nothing else matters.  Well, I guess Sasha Banks is there too.

Paige & Emma vs. Summer Rae & Sasha Banks

Emma starts marching in the ring and Paige wisely pushes her back.  Paige and Sasha start for their teams and Paige starts raging on Sasha, having to be pulled back by the referee.

Summer comes in, which brings Emma in and Summer runs back to Sasha.

Emma takes down Sasha with a drop toehold before hitting Sasha in the corner.  Sasha gets a quick whip in before Emma regains control, does a quick dance move and loses control.

Summer in the ring, taking advantage of the now weakened Emma.  Summer toys with Emma while Regal talks about elephantiasis and everything seems right in the world.

Summer stretches out Emma, pulling Emma’s arms while shoving her head and shoulders away with her legs while Renee Young likens her to Regina George in Mean Girls.

Emma tries bringing the Women’s Champion in and finally escapes Mrs. Fandango with a diving roll to make the tag.

Paige nails Summer in the ropes with her flurry of knees but before she can continue the aggression, Sasha pulls her leg causing a momentary distraction.

Paige gets back in control and nails a fisherman’s suplex for two when Sasha Banks makes the save.

Emma and Sasha get tosses out of the ring while Summer nails Paige with her standing legdrop slam to get a big win.

Winners: Summer Rae & Sasha Banks

As Summer kicks fake dirt on the champion, she turns to taunt Emma as Renee discusses how the big ego of Summer is likely to continue growing with this victory.

One more graphic airs showing tonight’s championship main event is up next.

Byron Saxton announces the next match will be for the Championship and Sami Zayn makes his way to the ring.  As the crowd chants for the challenger, the music of champion Bo Dallas hits to the dismay of the audience.

NXT Championship Match

Sami Zayn vs. Bo Dallas (Champion)

The crowd does the “NO MORE BO” chant as Regal puts over what big stars the former champions Seth Rollins and Big E Langston have become on RAW and Smackdown.

Both men exchange basic offense as the announcers put over the great year both men have had leading to this match.

Zayn gets an early rollup for two and Dallas regains himself.  Both men circle up and Sami ties up Bo in a variety of ways.  Dallas eventually makes his way free and knocks down Zayn, where he continually drops knees to the head to try to keep the challenger down.

The crowd continues to chant against Bo, who has Sami in a headlock.

Sami starts moving with some more high octane offense.  He hits the boot that he pinned Dallas with last week.  There is a three count but Bo’s foot is on the ropes.

The crowd goes nuts as the referee starts to hand Sami the belt.  The new General Manager JBL comes out screaming, saying they will not ruin the first title match in the JBL era.

JBL tells the referee to not make him learn his name and demands the match restarts.

Bo shoves Sami to the outside and we hit another commercial break.

Sami is in control with Bo on the outside for the return and Sami quickly does a dive to the outside.  Dallas back in the ring and Sami nails a crossbody from the top but only gets two.

Sami has the crowd riled up and he tries to go for his boot again but Dallas catches it.  As he backs Sami away, Sami swings Dallas into a spinning Doctor Bomb.

Two count again.

The crowd chanting “LET’S GO SAMI” as he lifts the champion off the mat.  Dallas hits him back and nails a running kick to the head.  Dallas suddenly hits a Sliced Bread but is only able to get a two count.

Bo looks on at Sami with a desperate look on his face.  Sami tries to get to his feet so Bo nails a reverse DDT on Zayn.

Two.

Dallas can’t believe it.  Dallas whips Sami but he falls down and Zayn grabs himself.  He kicks Bo in the chin and nails a spear before rolling up Dallas for another near fall.

Sami tries scaling the ropes but Bo knocks him down.  The crowd chants “NO” as Dallas sets up his spear.  He nails it but Sami kicks out again!

Both men struggle to their feet but Dallas gets to Zayn first.  He puts Sami on the top rope and starts to climb.  Bo starts punching Sami and then goes for the superplex but gets blocked.  Zayn fights his way free with a flurry of fists and does a rolling powerbomb.

Another two count.

Zayn starts doing rolling backdrops.  Dallas gets over to the corner and exposes the turnbuckle, much like he did to beat Big E Langston for the championship.

Zayn gets hit on the exposed turnbuckle and Bo rolls him up for a successful title defense.

Winner: Bo Dallas

Dallas celebrates in the ring as the once hot crowd goes dead.

The announcers go over several of the big moments from tonight’s main event.

Dallas celebrates with his title to close this week’s edition of NXT.
