WWE NXT – June 19, 2013

WWE NXT – 06/19/2013

This week’s edition of NXT opens with a video package highlighting last week’s title victory by Bo Dallas in the main event.

Adrian Neville makes his way to the ring first as we find out that Brad Maddox is back on commentary this week.

The Wyatt Family’s music begins, as we move toward the match heavily advertised last week, Wyatt-Neville opens the show.

Bray is not on the mic this week.  Wyatt comes out with Rowan and Harper in tow.

Adrian Neville vs. Bray Wyatt

The two stare each other down from across the ring. Wyatt charges but Neville ducks and throws some kicks.  Wyatt takes down Neville quickly and slams him to the mat.  As Adrian tries to get back to his feet, Wyatt preaches to the crowd.

Wyatt tosses and toys with Neville as the announcers put over the personal beef with these two, after the Wyatt Family took out Neville’s partner Oliver Grey.

Wyatt chokes Neville on the ropes.  Wyatt headbutts, splashes and elbow drops Adrian, full of aggression.  We hear about the 100-plus pound advantage.  Wyatt tries to toss Neville over the top but Adrian catches himself.  By the time Bray turns around, Neville delivers a kick to the face.  As he ascends the top rope to utilize some high-flying offense, Luke Harper rushes the corner and shoves Neville off the top.  The ref rings the bell and the Family assaults Neville.

Winner by DQ: Adrian Neville

Kassius Ohno and Corey Graves come out to make the save.  Graves and Ohno dispatch of Harper and Rowan as Bray escapes.

While the faces stand in the ring COMMON MAN hits and Dusty Rhodes comes out making a six-man tag match.  After Dusty leaves, we get an awesome moment as they show a close-up of Bray sauntering while Dusty’s theme music plays.

A match graphic is shown for tonight’s Women’s Championship tournament match – Sasha Banks vs. Summer Rae.

Back from break, generic music plays and Angelo Dawkins, looking like an early 1990s jobber is in the ring.

Out next, the ever-exciting Sami Zayn.

Angelo Dawkins vs. Sami Zayn

The two men tie up to stat the match.  We hear about the heavyweight Angelo Dawkins, a national title winner in football, wrestling and track in college.

We hear how Zayn was wrestling all over the world while Dawkins was in college and Zayn is wrestling circles around Dawkins.

Angelo manages to make a big slam on Zayn to stall the momentum and as he gets Sami up, Dawkins throws a forearm to the face before moving to a chinlock.

Dawkins uses his size advantage to maintain leverage and control but Zayn continues to fight his way out.  As Sami tries to break free, Dawkins stops him works Sami back to the corner.  Sami eventually outsmarts Dawkins and goes up top for a beautiful diving tornado DDT.

That’ll do it.

Winner: Sami Zayn

This was Zayn’s least interesting match to date but it is hard to top the two Cesaro bouts and the one with under-recognized Curt Hawkins.

The Leo Kruger promos from the past few weeks air again.  He has lived a PECULIAR life.  He is an exotic human being.

Sasha Banks, with the most porn-like name of all Divas, makes her way out to the ring.

Summer Rae comes out to the ring, showing more character than half the women on the main roster.

Women’s Championship Tournament: Round 1

Sasha Banks vs. Summer Rae

We hear that Summer graduated from the Julliard School of Dance and they mention her appearances with Fandango.

Rae takes early control, choking Banks in the corner before tossing her across the way.  Rae bullies Sasha, yelling in her face before faceplanting her into the mat for a two count.

Summer is frustrated, as the announcers point out “The First Lady of NXT” finds this tournament insulting, that she should just be handed the championship.

As Summer is making Sasha struggle, we hear she is the niece of Snoop Dogg.  Maybe hearing about Uncle Calvin, Sasha gets inspired, as she gets back into the match and starts rallying with hits to Summer.

Sasha tries to hit Summer in the corner but Summer escapes.  Summer catches her, yells “Bye Bye, Sasha!” and nails her with an impressive standing legdrop for the victory.

Winner: Summer Rae

Paige and Alicia Fox will meet in Round two as Summer awaits the winner of Emma-Aksana.

XAVIER WOODS!

Xavier Woods is sitting backstage mentions we may know him from previous episodes such as 141, 145, 155 (where he beat El Local) and 157 (where he beat El Local).  Now he makes his return and it is about to get real.  He tells us the roof is not his sun, but he will raise it.  We hear the little Power Rangers theme from their watches back on the old show.  He looks at his watch and tells us “Gotta go, Morphin Time”.  WE NEED MORE XAVIER WOODS!

After an ad for The Call (coming to Blu-ray combo pack!), we see Son of Vader, Jake Carter is waiting in the ring.

Xavier Woods comes out dancing.  A shot on his entrance video looks like he is trying to be a Ninja Turtle.  Brad Maddox talks about Xavier Woods being a nerd and we hear that Woods is working on his PhD currently.

Jake Carter vs. Xavier Woods

Woods is dancing as we hear he went to Germany to compete the N64 Goldeneye tournament.

The two men lock up and Xavier quickly takes control on Carter.  Woods has full control and they seem to be pushing the “stuck in the 90s” gimmick.  Woods apparently has a goal to find and marry Topanga.

Carter starts taking control of the match but Woods stops that quickly with a punch to the gut.  Maddox tries to discredit Xavier by calling him a “fan of the Big Bang Theory”.

Woods yells “IT’S MORPHIN TIME” and does a somersault into a jumping lariat (called the Honor Roll).  He hits his finisher, a falling foot to jaw called Lost in the Woods.

Winner: Xavier Woods

Woods celebrates in the ring dancing, as he does the Worm we hear a pretty awesome call in “Shades of Scotty 2 Hotty”.  More Xavier Woods, please.

Backstage, Sami Zayn joins Renee Young.  I don’t know if these two have legit good chemistry or if they are going to build up a relationship with these two because they are always extra playful with each other.

Zayn explains the match earlier tonight was a message to Antonio Cesaro.  He mentions Cesaro’s greatness and he cannot take exception to losing but he will take exception to Antonio beating him up after the match ended.  He mentions they each have one win, time for round three.

Sylvester Lefort is upset backstage, telling Dawson and Dylan they should be the #1 contenders for the tag titles.  Dusty comes in the shot and tells these two they have a #1 Contenders Match next week versus Ohno and Graves.  Dusty tells Lefort that he appreciates the Frenchmen’s wine and women.  Seems a bit early to be throwing these two to the wolves…

We get a screen hyping the main event, before getting a screaming Bo Dallas “shooting his own video” from his car, thanking the NXT Universe for their support.  He talks about being so busy but wants to give proof he is not a liar to all his Bo-lievers.  He mentions he said he was going to Disney World, and he shows a picture of him standing in front of the castle, wearing mouse ears and his title over his shoulder giving a thumbs up.  Bo promises he will be back next week and that is a promise, which he always keeps. Then he sings an out of tune Journey knockoff saying BO-LIEVING again.

Back to the show, RVD’s return promo airs.

We find out next week, Big E Langston will be at the NXT arena for his first appearance since losing the title.

Adrian Neville makes his way out to the ring next, signaling the start of the six-man tag main event.

Corey Graves is out next, followed by Kassius Ohno.

The Wyatt Family comes out next at their combined weight of 876 pounds.

Adrian Neville, Corey Graves & Kassius Ohno vs. The Wyatt Family

The makeshift team have a quick discussion as Corey Graves starts off against Luke Harper.  Graves, despite being much smaller, gets an early headlock on Harper and keeps control to bring in Kassius Ohno.

Harper takes down Ohno and moves over to tag in Rowan.  Ohno starts laying some big punches into Rowan until a wel-timed kick by Erick.  Erick tosses Ohno over the ropes but Kassius catches himself and gets back into the rig to take down Rowan.

Neville gets tagged in and makes a few hits at Rowan but Rowan shrugs him off and drags Neville to the other side, bringing in Wyatt.

Wyatt tries to slingshot Neville into the corner but in an awesome spot, Neville catches himself and drops two feet to the sternum of Wyatt!

Harper back in and Adrian hits a picture perfect hurricanrana before making another quick tag to Graves.  Graves wraps up Luke in the ropes and all the men are keeping the action fast paced in this match.

A big boot to Graves for a two count.

Graves finds himself stuck in the wrong corner, as we head to commercial break.

Back from break, Wyatt is resting in the ropes while Graves struggles on the mat.  Wyatt tags in Rowan, who makes an unsuccessful cover attempt.

Rowan scoops up Graves and throws him unmercifully in the corner of the Wyatt Family.  Graves tries to fight his way out of a big bear hug, so Rowan smashes him in the corner once again and tag in his tag partner, Harper.

Luke continues to wear down Graves but Corey is able to get to his feet. He delivers a kick to Harper but Harper smacks him back to the mat for a two-count.

Harper drags Graves much like a horror villain and tags in Wyatt.  Maddox says that Graves has been trapped in this corner for over five minutes at this point.

Graves starts fighting back against Wyatt. Graves tries for a sunset flip, Wyatt tries to splash him but Graves moves.  Wyatt tags in Rowan but Graves finally makes it to Kassius.

Kassius and Rowan exchange some heavy offense but Ohno gets launched outside of the ring.  Harper, now the legal man, comes out to bang Kassius around the outside.

Harper steps on Ohno’s throat and tags in Wyatt.  Ohno starts chopping at Wyatt from the ground but Wyatt brings him back into the Family corner.

Harper back in now, keeping KO grounded. Harper yells over at Adrian and Graves and Harper drops a series of elbows onto Ohno.

Rowan tagged back in.  Kassius is trying to make a tag but Rowan keeps pulling him back.  To make sure, Rowan throws Ohno back and knocks Graves off the apron. He gets back to Kassius and nails him with a pumphandle backbreaker.

Harper in but Kassius makes an escape.  Both men down but Harper gets a tag to Wyatt.

Neville gets a hot tag and he takes down Wyatt.  Neville hits some of the crazy dives only he can and starts clearing the ring.  As he goes to dive to the outside, Rowan tries to stop him.  Kassisus takes out Rowan and all three Wyatt members are lined up outside.

Wyatt scrambles away but Neville takes out the tag champs and Kassius with a dive.

Wyatt is in the ring and Neville takes him down with another kick to the head.  He goes up top for his corkscrew finisher but Harper pulls Wyatt out of the ring. Bray scoots back in and gets the pinfall victory for the Family.

Winners: The Wyatt Family

Graves and Ohno check on Neville as Harper grabs the tag belts for a Wyatt celebration on the ramp.
