Taped at Full Sail University. Renee Young, Jason Albert and Rich Brennan are commentating.
Tyler Breeze vs. Mojo Rawley
Oh yeah, they had a thing a few weeks ago. Mojo’s heat is completely gone, by the way. Breeze quickly pounces on the shoulder and submits him with an armbar in barely over a minute. I….kinda feel bad for Mojo now. They do an injury angle to presumably take him off TV for a bit. He kinda needs it.
TONIGHT: Enzo and BIG CASS take on the Vaudevillains while Sami Zayn faces Titus O’Neil.
At the Performance Center, Enzo talks to GM Regal, asking him to watch Carmella in action. We see her sparring in the ring and she applies a cool looking leg scissors for the submission. Regal is impressed and gives her a tryout next week. She hugs Cass and pushes Enzo away when he looks for the same.
We recap the issue between Hideo Itami and The Ascension.
Hideo Itami vs. Viktor (take 2)
Viktor is alone this time and controls to start. The crowd seems really quiet during this match. Hideo makes the comeback but the focus turns to the rampway as we see Konnor dragging a limp Funaki out. Hideo finishes Viktor with a dropkick and Konnor attacks. They tie Hideo in the ropes and make him watch as they lay out Funaki with the Fall of Man.
The Vaudevillains vs. Enzo and BIG CASS
DON’T MAKE ME CHOOSE!
Cass gets a burn on the heels with a Hey Arnold! reference. English works over Enzo to start. Cass gets the tag and blasts Gotch with a boot but the Vaudevillains turn the tide and That’s A Wrap finishes on Enzo.
Zayn has words for O’Neil. He just wanted to stand up for NXT and his friend Adrian Neville whom he has NO problems with. No siree Bob.
Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks
Renee struggles to remain professional amid Becky’s hotness. So much slash fic is being written right now. Definitely the highest energy match of the show so far as both girls show great intensity in the ring. Becky gets momentum but Sasha follows her in on a whip and hits the Backstabber/Facelock combo (now called the Banks Statement) for the tap. I love Bayley, but Sasha/Charlotte should be a great match.
Titus O’Neil vs. Sami Zayn
Sami uses speed to get his licks in but Titus uses his power to wear him down. Very methodically. And very boring. He dumps Zayn out as we take a break.
We return with a bearhug by Titus. Really? This must have been taped late in the night because the crowd barely does the Ole chants to rally Zayn. More 80s heel offense from Titus as I am struggling to not FF right now. Back to the bearhug. Zayn pulls down the rope on a charge and follows with a hilo out onto Titus. Back in Zayn hits a crossbody for 2. Heluva Kick attempt meets a boot for 2. Zayn escapes a slam and locks in a sleeper but is tossed off. Who fucking thought this match needed this much time? Zayn goes for the Tornado DDT but Titus crotches him and Clash of the Titus gets the pin. O’Neil wants more, but Neville pulls Zayn away.
Thoughts: This did nobody any favors. Titus is a very shitty wrestler if you take away any comedy or personality from his character and we’ve seen Sami take enough beatings and lose. A waste of a main event.
FINAL THOUGHTS: Every taping seems to have that one dead show where the crowd is tired and nothing happens. This week was that show. Completely skippable.
