Paid attendance in Little Rock last night came out to 3,398.
Steve Cox and Chris Adams recently failed drug tests. Both were fined and as Adams’ second offense, he was told that one more failed test will result in his firing. Cox seems open to getting clean but Adams left his meeting with owner Jared Hawkins irritated, apparently upset that he got caught.

Former WWF Intercontinental Champion Ricky Steamboat and his wife Bonnie celebrated the birth of a son, Ricky Jr., earlier today.

Paul Jones, The Italian Stallion and Misty Blue Simmes are available effective today. I’m not expecting them to appear on TV this week as they already have a full line up announced but one or more could be used to cover for short matches.

Kat LeRoux is now available as she completed all of her obligations with Jim Crockett Promotions. Prepare to see about a million Misty Blue vs. LeRoux matches.
July 1987, Friday, Week 2
Sid Steele appeared on a local radio show in Tulsa last night and revealed that he hates debuting in a promotion because his nerves get to him, which causes his performances to suffer. He did not explain why his performances suffer every other time he wrestles. Apparently every match he has is his debut match.
July 1987, Saturday, Week 2
Mike Rotundo has met all of his obligations with Jim Crockett Promotions and will be debuting for the UWF shortly. He is expected to get a good push out of the gate.

We didn’t get an official number for the replay of Power Pro Wrestling on KWTV this weekend but have been informed ratings went up from last week.

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Lightning Express defeated Gary Young and Fury in 5:51 when Brad Armstrong defeated Fury by pinfall with a Russian Leg Sweep. Lightning Express make defence number 3 of their UWF Tag Team titles. Why did they decide not to have Cactus Jack team with Young again?
Terry Taylor joined Jim Ross on commentary for the Western States Heritage Title match between Barry Windham and champion Chavo Guerrero, challenging the winner to a title match. The match was one of the best the UWF has had all year, although the crowd didn’t know who to cheer for which killed some of the heat. In the end, Windham hit the bulldog and appeared to have the title won, but the bell rang at 2 7/8 to signify a 30-minute time limit draw.
Video packages for Mike Rotundo and for Eddie Gilbert aired.
One Man Gang pinned UWF Heavyweight Champion Big Bubba Rogers (w/Gen. Skandor Akbar) in 14:25. Rogers got a close near fall with a flying splash off the top, but Gang hit one of his own a few minutes later. The crowd actually reacted rather well to the title switch.
Jim Ross interviewed the new champion backstage, who said he was a new man and would prove it by being a fighting champion.
