Now Pence wants out. Hey fucker, you could have said no in the first place; you aren't a woman so Trump would have probably listened.

He just tweeted Trump won the debate and he was proud to stand with him.

That went well. Didn't do enough to knock Trump out of the race, ensuring he stays in and his base won't let the GOP force him out.

too many good instant reactions for one offhand comment Trump had about tossing Hillary in jail... that worries me.

What about that is worrisome? It's kind of an outrageous thing for our country if you think about it.

I was more thrown off by his wandering and only sitting for maybe 20% of the debate.

I was more blown away by him fighting and sniping with the moderators.

Stating that he would put his opponent in jail is, amazingly, the worst thing he's said in the whole campaign. I didn't bother watching, but to 909's point, he may have done just well enough to lose the GOP both the Senate and the House. Clinton will win comfortably at around 48-41, but if the party lets him keep doing his thing because of this "momentum," he'll have plenty of chances to fuck up again and make this a legislative landslide as well.

Edit: And the first post-pussy poll has Clinton +11. This is gonna be beautiful.

The pro-Trump stuff my aunt would share went down from 22-30 likes to 1 like in the span of a week. Not that this is scientific or anything.

Clinton+14 in head to head.

But I still think pneumonia-ghazi is going to take Clinton down any minute.

What really stuck out to me (outside of Trump sounding more like a fascist than usual) is that it never felt like he actually was trying to win the debate. It's obvious he's more interested in hurting Clinton in some way or another, and it feels like he's given up on doing anything but playing to his base. He must be thinking "if I'm gonna go down, I'm going down my way."

It's frustrating because I am surrounded by his base here in Oklahoma so if I listen to the world around me it feels like Trump killed it and easily won the debate. I feel detached from reality in this place sometimes.

This election will prove if nothing else people will vote for ANYONE if they have the right letter next to their name.

Put aside ALL of the other shit that makes Trump abhorrent and you still have a guy with NO experience and NO plan for anything. This is the ultimate "I'm rich and white so that makes me qualified" candidate. Fucking PEROT had an actual platform.

Even the typical GOP positives the right wing goes for, Trump doesn't have. He's no evangelical family man, has displayed little respect for veterans, and even his one moderate talent (business) is mixed at best. He's little more than a bullshit con of the "American alpha male" ideal that various Republicans have convinced the country needs mixed with an "anyone but Hillary" mindset. The real desperate ones are the people I've seen online convinced he's the populist candidate to break the establishment, even though its obvious all but the most extreme he's more Ted Baxter than Huey Long.

Those rallies had so many people there, they had to turn people away! Those empty seats are because the fire marshals are against us. I think someone should keep tabs on those people to make sure they do the right thing. Maybe some kind of uniform would be good to wear for people who intend to make sure things are fair for us. Maybe some brown button-ups. Is "brownshirts" a good term? I like it, it's the best term that was ever invented. No one can make terms like him.

THE JOKE IS OLD NOW. THIS IS WRONG. WE ARE BETTER THAN THIS.

When I attempt to have a conversation with people who think Trump won the debate it mostly consists of them just being happy with his "scorched earth" strategy. Everything is a "disaster" all the time. He literally offers no policy solutions to anything ever, and when I point this out none of his supporters seem to care because "Pence will handle that" or "He'll have advisers" or some other excuse to explain why it doesn't matter that guy clearly has no idea what he is talking about.

He's going HAM on the GOP and everyone who's disavowed him now. Whether he ever wanted to win or not, he and his campaign are probably now just eying subscribers for a Breitbart/Trump News channel.

Man, kinda wish this election cycle didn't create a bigger version of the tea party

But at least the good news is all the subtle bullshit the Republican Party has always felt and wanted to do is out in the open

The best part is that a lot of people in the Republican party wanted to believe that the racism that drives other candidates didn't drive them too. A lot of politicians thought that people were really just with them for economic conservatism and small government. But now everyone knows that shit's not true and a lot of rank and file Republicans are not going to be able to deal with this kind of racism. A lot of Republican politicians outside of southern states aren't bigots, and are Christian...and they can't handle this stuff. I don't really know what happens to them.
