That’s what so infuriating to me in the current political climate. It isnt really a difference in perspective or philosophy. Most Republicans work off a platform of blatant misinformation and lies while also convincing people their oppression will help them. Mostly by using Jesus.

There's a zero percent chance that a single one of these conservative shitbags who suddenly started supporting Goya when the CEO came out in support of Trump has ever cooked with them. Frankly, I'd be astonished if they've ever even eaten them.

IIRC, that dude is the youngest Rep in US history (not even 26 yet). If he lost his erection powers in that car crash, he's going to have the GOP evil combined with literal impotent rage and will destroy everything in his path for the next 40 years.
Just 40 more could be optimistic considering how many 75+ year old members of Congress there are.

Twitter took down a lot of the misleading posts reporting options that were prevalent during the voting cycle. They don‘t really have a way to report blatant misinformation like this tweet that should have those content warnings.

Non-powerful tweeters probably can't be monitored for that but congresspeople, etc should. Just slap a "this is a lie" on every tweet like that.

I think the problem is too many of these clowns get their platform. I mean, wasn’t Majorie Taylor-Greene someone non-powerful who got a following for antagonizing school shooting victims and spouting conspiracy theories? Trump too would’ve been laughed off as not in that position pre-Apprentice. So it may be hard to flag and monitor everyone and everything but there should be an option to address things that could wind up dangerous or entirely false and misleading like this.

Yes. If a tweeter hasn't taken an office yet but has a large following or whatever, that too should be monitored. And when they chose to lie, or threaten, or incite violence, etc, it should have consequences.

Some of those (probably most) are so pathetic and transparent. Imagine really trying to justify making it a crime to offer food and water to people standing in line.

I think I mentioned it in the Presidential Race thread, but it was still amazing to see two voting spots in Dayton, OH within 0.4 miles of each other and hearing stories about 1 or 2 polling places in the entire cities of Louisville or Milwaukee.

I read this article and was like “huh. That can’t be the same Daniel Rodimer that was a failed WWE prospect in the late ‘00s.” But it is the same Daniel Rodimer. Cc @Baby Shoes

I was like "Man, I wish Hardcore Holly would teach this dumb fake tough guy some manners!" again but then I realized I was thinking of Daniel Puder not Daniel Rodimer. Also if Hardcore Holly is a voter (which I kind of lean against tbh), there's no way he's not voting Republican. Also Dan Puder would have been to able to kick Hardcore Holly's ass in most situations probably.

I doubt it. Last time I saw Holly he was super juiced. More than any time in his WWE run.

He is saying one of two things, and both are bad:

People of color cannot afford Yankees tickets, OR

People having to pay premium ticket prices is equivalent to not being able to easily exercise their constitutional right to vote.

How can people of this party not see what this party is doing?

100 dollar tickets are really fucking insane but its a stupid comparison.

Voter ID laws in the US as an outsider are hard to understand why they're such a big deal unless you know the actual history of voter disenfranchisement because it's totally different in Canada so you kind of go "well why shouldn't people have to show ID?" and then you look into it and go "oh fuck yeah that's...yeah not cool".
