It is a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation for the US House's biggest DMB fan considering a lot of his JD Vance attacks are based around JD Vance being driven by outside influences.

I might throw him Tim Ryan a few bucks though on my next payday cause I hate the idea of a soulless grifter like JD Vance being a Senator.

Oh fuck, we're listening to the Warnock/Walker debate as we pass through GA on the way home, and it's an absolute shitshow. I don't want to blame Walker too much because he has obvious mental health issues, but this is like having multiple people scold a child for being overly disruptive time and time again.

Someone in law enforecement really needs to call this shit out, Walker is gaslighting to an extreme degree on this subject.

I can't imagine Georgia would vote this fool in, but ya never know.

In other fucked up Walker news.....

He now has admitted giving his ex a $700 check (and the paper trail shows it was specifically for abortion services) but is now playing dumb on it claiming he "didn't know what it was for"

What's the phrase again? Always trust a Democrat to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory?

Boosting the fringe, which doesn't bode well in a time of hyper-partisanship, is a dumb fucking idea. So much so that my BIL, who is a capital-D Democrat (often agreeing with the "socialism bad" talking points that make no real sense), is getting frustrated.

While it was obviously an awful idea to agree to that debate, I still think the mainstream liberal media might be overblowing the importance of this debate. How good does it make Dr. Oz, a PROFESSIONAL TELEVISION TALK SHOW HOST, look to dominate a debate against a stroke victim? I actually think it might not be too hard for the Fetterman campaign to spin this into a positive and paint Dr. Oz as a bully for insisting on this debate.

Whether or not, Fetterman is not fit to serve is another can of worms but I don't think the vast majority of voters care about debates.

We have this same issues in MN right now in that the alt-right idiot Scott Jensen, running for governor, has been demanding a multitude of debates against Tim Walz. Walz has done maybe 2 or 3 of them total against him. The idea behind it, from the Walz campaign, is doing these debates over and over with this anti-vax, anti-abortion, anti-truth guy isn't really productive at the end of the day. Jensen uses it as ammunition to attack Walz as not being open about confrontation, lack of accountability, etc. I don't think anyone is buying that argument other than GOP lemmings.

What gets me is the main argument against Walz from Jensen is that he "sat back and let it burn" during the Minneapolis riots. My take on that was completely different, looking back there was issues with getting National Guards in quickly, but this was a situation that Trump was accountable to a degree on as well. They were waiting for some sort of ok from Washington and there was delays. So it appears that was the strategy.....make it appear Walz was the one dragging his feet on, when it was really wasn't him doing it. Welcome to the ways of the alt-right.

A bigger cause for concern for the Democratic Party is the fact that the New York gubernatorial race and the Washington US Senate race are now in play. *That* is the main sign of trouble for the Dems. How do you end up with competitive races in two of the hardest blue states?

Where are you seeing that these races are competitive?

Politico had articles about them this week. Not competitive in that the Democrats are seriously at risk of losing but competitive in the sense that Texas & Florida races are competitive (where an upset is kind of, sort of but not really possible)

I get why they're wary after Andrew Gillum but "Never running any remotely interesting or progressive candidates" is a bad strategy for the Florida Democratic Party. The current crop makes Beto O'Rourke look like Eugene V. Debs. Those idiots are going turn a state that should be purple (if not blue) red!

To her credit, Val Demings has been running ads about how she is strongly supportive of reproductive freedom. But she has also been running ads about how she Backs the Blue. Blech!

Again CRIME being the Democrats' Achilles heel is another sign of their incompetency. It's such a boogeyman issue since the violent crime rate has been halved in the past 30 years. There were slight increases during the start of the pandemic but it seems slightly down again this year.

Of course, the modern GOP has no regard for actual facts so maybe the point is moot.

I've probably been reading left wing Twitter too much.
