I understood the necessity for the coverage, especially towards the end of the doc but I too wish there was more discussion of the football side of his life especially with the Eagles. People gloss over the fact he was playing under Buddy Ryan & Wade Phillips for most of that tenure and that DE Clyde Simmons was putting up crazy sack numbers then too ('87 - '92 Simmons had 69 Sacks in 92 games then went to the Cardinals in 1994) and would finish his career with 121.5 Sacks. I think Reggie and especially Jerome Brown (b/c he was BFF with Reggie & died young) get too much mystique/attention for "being" the Eagles D in that era. It would be like people looking back at the early Patriots from 2000-2007 and putting all the praise on Ty Law & Tedy Bruschi while ignoring everybody else.

As somebody who didn't follow Reggie off the field, I did find his Hebrew stuff at the end really interesting so I was glad to see that but again felt like there was too much coverage of it. It's kind of funny but at times it's almost like media pigeonholes Reggie as much for his religious side as his on the field football side.

Thinking about it some more and I'm pretty sure they didn't even mention Reggie tearing his hammy or whatever in 95. He was about to do surgery and miss out the playoff push when he prayed and napped on it. He woke up and it felt better so he drove over to Holmgren's house to stop the IR move.
More than likely White just manned up and injected whatever it took to numb the pain to play. That would have been a big story in most of these kind of docs, but this one was interested in devaluing Reggie's faith to a degree,

The False Positive episode that aired re: 400 M Record Holder Butch Reynolds (and the Olympics) was incredibly fascinating to watch especially as somebody who had no idea about the situation at all. These are the kinds of episodes that make this series particularly effective because it was well paced, in-depth discussion about what happened without getting too into the weeds. Highly recommended.
