Amy Winehouse found dead

This thread is begging for a resurfacing of the Amy Winehouse picture thread for a few years back.

Will this be the thread we use once she ODs and dies in 3 or 4 years?

Predicting Amy Winehouse would die young is not being a clairvoyant.

As someone who has dealt with family members who have had drinking/drug issues (although, I admit, not as bad as she was) I am genuine in feeling badly for her parents and her brother. They're the victims in this. They were desperate to save this woman who 1) couldn't be saved and 2) didn't even want to be saved, seemingly. And it doesn't even sound like they were the pushy stage parent types (Dina Lohan) who you pin some of the blame on for their kid ending up the way they did.
I know this guy I'm quoting doesn't post here anymore, but.. I just saw the Amy documentary and it seems like her father was more concerned with making money off of her than with her health. Dude goes right on the record saying he didn't think she needed rehab and told her not to go (hence the line in the song).

Also, I think it's always sad to people reacting to this kind of thing and blaming the addict. Most addicts suffer from severe depression or other mental health issues - issues that often start long before they get into substance abuse. None of them "ask for it" or are "begging for it" - it just is what it is. You can still feel sympathy for them even if it seems like they don't accept or want help.

FAKE EDIT: I have never been a Foo Fighters fan but I have a new level of disgust for Dave Grohl after a scene in the doc where you see him crack up at George Lopez's tasteless jokes during the Grammy nominees announcements. Dude has lost so many friends and colleagues to the same shit and here he is laughing it up at someone else suffering and going through the exact same thing.

Blaming addiction on an addict is like blaming melanoma on a person for having spent too much time in the sun.

Haven't watched the doc yet, but I don't think I'll have the same feelings towards Dave Grohl as you do. Not sure what jokes were being said at the Grammy's but I don't really think anything is off limits in comedy and don't think having a sense of humor about something "tasteless" reflects on a persons morals. Especially if they have personally gone through an experience and can still laugh at/make fun of it.

Yes, blaming an addict is the same as blaming a cancer patient since, you know, addictive substances are ingested no matter what every time you step outside during the day. That's some kinda reach, brah.

Maybe do some research on depression and mental health before you start throwing out "brah's", chief.
