Meanwhile ABC has picked up a series about Fobs. Hopefully it won't be close to as bad as All American Girl.

CBS did not pick up How I Met Your Dad after all. It's currently shopping other networks.

Also, Two and a Half Men is FINALLY ending after next season. How long has this show been on the air? Well, I was still in high school when it premiered and I graduated college 5 years ago. Yikes.

Reserving a spot in the 2014/2015 version of this thread for "Selfies", which I'm basing purely on the name.

I see for summer reruns, The Goldbergs is being given the Wednesday Modern Family lead in and post time slots. The commercial was unclear if that is the plan for the fall but not a bad idea.

Hopefully they use #Selfie as the shows theme song just to make it that much worse.

FX shows "Chozen" and "Legit" are officially axed.

I enjoyed watching the first season of Legit on Netflix. I was actually just listening to Jim Jefferies on the Nerdist podcast today and he seemed pretty excited for the show's third season. Oops.

"Chozen" was a disaster from the get go. The previews didn't do it any favors, critics hated it and at the end of the day, it kinda sucked.

I honestly can't help but wonder how long FXX is going to last. Most of the newer shows that go there get poor ratings and get cancelled, and everything about reeks of a fiasco.

Man, I am so sick of the Chozen ads that play here during the breaks on Rogers OnDemand shows. I guess this means that those will end, so woohoo for that.

Don't know if it's technically a cancellation as her contract was not renewed but "Chelsea Lately" is ending after a seven year run. Last episode is August 26

The Fox entertainment chairman resigned. He is the one who was pushing to change the way they do tv with year round shorter seasons of higher quality (also known as how it should be) and fought to give second seasons to Enlisted and Almost Human. Which he obviously lost. And now left. It's a shame because I think he's right about the direction of tv and he fought for quality shows that were not ratings hits. Tv needs more like that not less.

This is what cable has over networks right now IMO. People point to that they get away with more adult content...but watch hannibal and tell me that's the problem with networks. What cable has is bolder creative direction that isn't a slave to the bottom line. Everyone wants to do cbs numbers. Well...I watch like 2 things on cbs...so I can't speak to the overall quality...but it doesn't really appeal to me. Person of interest is p great though.

I don't know about quality but often a show that gets cancelled in May by CBS would have ratings that would get it renewed on NBC.

And if one were to watch only one CBS drama, Person of Interest should be it.

The Arsenio Hall Show has been cancelled

Never saw a listing for it. Of course, maybe it is just ending that show for him to step into The Late Late Show spot. Wouldn't bet on it but wouldn't be stunned.

I will drop dead from shock if ARSENIO gets that spot. If he couldn't make this current gig work, that one would be an unmitigated disaster.

I half-expected him to do a Maya Angelou tribute show, and was surprised when they aired a re-run instead; was that the reason why?

Yeah. This new Arsenio Hall Show had piss poor ratings. Arsenio's an all around poor choice to replace Ferguson.

It's too bad the new Arsenio Hall Show didn't work out but it was kind of inevitable. I thought there was definitely a need for an updated version of the Arsenio Hall Show since late night talk shows are generally lilywhite but I didn't think the updated version of the Arsenio Hall Show should have Arsenio himself!

To be fair, it was on the CW. Arsenio had already been on the air for four months before I'd realized he came back, simply because I not only never watch CW, but I don't even watch shows/networks where CW shows get advertised. What I saw of it, I really liked.

I didn't know it was on until the night it premiered and that was only because my friend texted me that Arsenio was on the local Fox affiliate and I was like "What the heck's he doing there?" I half thought they started airing classic episodes but it was new ones.

I've seen one commercial for the new Arsenio Hall Show and it was this weekend, a few days after I heard it was canceled.

I saw two or three episodes and the show was fine. If you liked the original Arsenio Hall Show, you would have liked this one. Not surprised in the least that it didn't get picked up for a second season (even though it said it did a few months back!)

Not a surprise, Grande getting bigger and didn't seem like they wanted to continue.

ETA: Where did you read that news?

Not surprised either, though still kinda pissed they axed Victorious for that. Saw 3-4 eps out of curiosity...

#1: They lacked chemistry and it was pretty obvious the show was mainly set up to capitalize on the "name" factor rather than any rooted idea. It came off like a 3rd rate iCarly with a weird babysitting aspect (that, again, made no sense considering the characters involved) and didn't even have the bonus singing aspect of Victorious.

#2: The second tier characters were pretty forgettable. Dice was no Spencer/Gibby/Robby and the few episodes they did bring back characters just felt like pandering for a ratings stunt. Jade and Cat immediately had more chemistry in their 1/2 episode together than Sam/Cat did in any of the episodes I saw.

Watching with my lady, the show felt very forced and didn't make an ounce of sense. Then Grande got that Grammy nod and all I could think was well this show is done.
