Black Monday NFL 2025

It may or may not work but Saleh deserved another opportunity. Not his fault the Jets were and remain one of the worst run teams in all of organized sport.

more importantly for him in Tennessee aside from having a viable QB and most likely, an OC that he wants to work with, the popular sentiment is that if McDaniel doesn’t land a HC position, he will go to Nashville to work with a promising young QB and work with Saleh whom he worked with in SF and has a strong relationship.

After losing 87 year old Tom Moore to retirement, Tampa has recovered and will start a youth campaign hiring 72 year old Danny Smith, formerly of the Steelers, to be their new ST coordinator.

Some of these people probably remember the Pottsville Maroons and the Providence Steam Roller.

Mike McDaniel turned down an in person interview with Cleveland in an absolute “nah, i’m good, i saw what’s happening there” move. he’s still a top candidate for Baltimore and Vegas HC openings and is taking interviews for OC jobs as well.

not a great vibe in Buffalo with the owner essentially throwing Keon Coleman under the bus for being a bust and blaming the now fired coach for the failure.

It feels like no matter what happens this is going to turn out like when the Chargers fired Marty. Allen is better than Rivers but like, even still

Tommy Rees will follow Kevin Stefanski to Atlanta to be their new OC.

Tampa Bay will be hiring former ATL OC Zac Robinson to be their OC.

Minters going to Baltimore.

Preferences are now Kubiak and McDermott

Dallas Cowboys are hiring Christian Parker as their new DC from the Philadelphia Eagles (DB Coach 2024-2025, DB Coach Denver Broncos 2021-2023).

Interesting that Mike McDaniel took the Charger OC job and told the Browns he's passing on their planned HC interview only to now talk to the Bills about their HC spot today
not interesting at all, historically you don’t get a third chance at a head coaching job and he’s already dealt with a terrible franchise with no QB and stability, only a desperate fool would do that again and he’s not desperate.

Is there a lot of cases of guys taking a job and then continuing to look for a HC job in the same off season? It struck me as unique.

Yeah, turning down Cleveland makes sense and everyone should do that, but I dont think there've been as many instances of taking a coordinator job and continuing to interview elsewhere.

don’t have the entire history coaching decisions in front of me at this moment but Josh McDaniels essentially did the inverse a few years ago, accepted a head coaching job with the Colts only to go back to being a OC.

Mike McDaniel isn’t the only one signing/extending deals to be a coordinator while seeking higher employment elsewhere, Brian Flores extended his deal with Minnesota with the understanding he’s still actively seeking other open positions this current carousel.

I think this is going to be an increasingly common practice in the NFL.

Allen is actively involved in the decision process, which is why Davis Webb is a popular candidate for the job because they are best friends.

So if they actually did sign Rivers, it’ll be because Allen gave it his blessing.

Dolphins are hiring Chris Tabor as their ST Coach, he had been with the Buffalo Bills.

Mike McDaniel has withdrawn his meeting with the Buffalo Bills.

Looks like he finally checked out the weather situation in Buffalo and Cleveland and knows his ankles can’t handle that harshness.
