I try not to overreact over tune-up fights, but there were things in that Fury fight I couldn't believe were actually happening. They will show the last minute of that fight in 20 years the way they show Mike Tyson shit now.

Manny has to be a top ten fighter ever at this point. He's supposed to be losing to the kinds of guys he fought last night, not beating them soundly. Scorecards said differently but that was a rather wide decision I thought.

Agreed. Manny won at least 7 rounds, and you would have to give Thurman every other close round to make it close. He’s out of this world

Yeah that was really one of the better old man performances ever maybe. Pac looked so quick and fluid out there.

TIL Manny Pacquiao is the WBA Super Welterweight champion. Not the Super Welterweight champion with a weight limit of 154 pounds, but the Super version of the Welterweight championship which is 147 pounds.

I really hate boxing championships.

Isn't Lomachenko the interim champ and Commey/Lopez are fighting for the undisputed championship? I know it it's something screwy like that.

Well. I didn’t see the fight yet, but it sounds like Fury just beat the shit out of Wilder for 7 before the ref called it off.

Yeah Wilder got his eardrum popped and couldn't stand up right so...yeah they should fight again.

Fury's strategy was pretty fantastic. The swarming and smothering offense and constant clinching seemed to really take it out of Wilder. I think he was pretty close to done before the corner threw the towel in so I don't mind that.

Fury busted Wilder with a punch in the second that ruptured Wilder's eardrum. Wilder didn't have a chance after that. His equilibrium was thrown to hell.

Looking at the wiki page, Wilder came in at 231 lbs (he's 6'7") while Tyson Fury is 6'9", 273 lbs. I wonder if boxing would do well to add a division between cruiserweight (190 lbs) and heavyweight. It feels like the typical heavyweight champion now is bigger than Jess Willard, who was seen as a freak.
