FIRST ON CNN: CDC set to stop tracking community levels for Covid-19 | CNN

As the nation’s public health emergency expires on May 11, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will stop reporting its color-coded Covid-19 Community Levels as a way to track the spread of the infection.

Obviously COVID-19 won't really be over anytime soon but it does really feel like last phase of pandemic is winding down. Hospitals are ending mask requirements on Monday here and even the employees at the local hipster coffee shop that's been hyper vigilant about masks were unmasked when I stopped in there after lunch this afternoon.

Of course, I realize in a lot of this country that hospitals, doctor's offices and hipster coffee shop employees have been unmasked for months (a year?) lol.
 
Fuck that.

My paramedic friend stated that "exposure to COVID?" is still in their protocol. This shit isn't over and I'll be god damned if people dedicating their lives to life saving have to catch COVID due to complacency.
