Any update on a patch yet for the console version's? I can play through the game with mashing the A BUTTon as a Rogue but I don't think I'll be able to do it as my Warrior from DAO. I've noticed that the Warriors are a bit sluggish without the correct gameplay in the game.

Also so we can't switch out the armor of our companions?

I've been playing as a warrior and the whole A BUTTon thing is not a big problem for me.

Hmm maybe it's just me then with the Warriors and mashing the A button.

New bug identified--rather, something a lot of people were seeing has been figured out. It's a really bad one, and I'm starting to see the effects.

Just to catch up the people who aren't inclined to read the last 4 pages:

The bug happens when you load a game without Isabella or Sebastian in your party.
To trigger the bug, either of them, after getting friend status must have been in your party at least once.

The bug is that the game thinks their buffs for hawke are still on while they are out of the party. Once the game loads, it subtracts that buff from hawke, even though it wasn't on in the first place (because they are not in your party when you loaded the game).

Now if you load the game while they are currently in the party, it will not subtract the buff, hence you won't get slowed down.

There is currently no solution, just a prevention method. Don't friend them in the first place, or always have them in your party when you save (meaning no saving in Hawke Estate).

Every time you load a game without one of them in the party, you get the negative effect of the friendship bonus, and it stacks. So if you load 5 savegames without Isabela in your party, you'll be at -25% attack speed, permanently. This crushes attack animations, and I was wondering why it seemed spells were taking forever to cast. I didn't get any of the plot bugs reported earlier, but this one is terrible and gamebreaking. The only way to fix it is to use a save game editor on PC, but there's nothing for consoles. Fuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Never had this and I'm on friend levels with both of those characters.

So like an idiot I went to the holding caves for the A Bitter Pill quest, but didn't take Fenris with me. I realized this fairly quickly but it wouldn't let me leave. First glitch was during cutscenes the camera focusing on where Fenris would be if he was there, and him talking, but not being there. Second glitch is I can't finish the quest now because it thinks I still need to kill what's her name but she's lying dead on the floor, with the quest arrow pointed right at her. Grrr.

We're in the same boat. Usually the game forces you to take the right person during a companion quest. Someone goofed.

My god Awakening was the most boring DLC ive ever played. Nothing about it held my interest except the character of "Justice".

Im onto the gollems of somewhere now, then onto witch hunter so i can import my character into the glitcharific DA2!

To be fair, I did like Anders' intro.

*walks in to a room full of flaming templar corpses, sees Anders blow up some darkspawn*

"Ummm.... I didn't do it."

Anyone who held out on DA2, it's $40 on Amazon today.

I already have something to do in my 2nd playthrough that I missed in the first. Missed a bunch of the Band of Three scrolls and they are Act specific. Whoops.

Speaking of glitches, here are some abilities that have been confirmed as not working, so don't waste your points on them if it bothers you.

Goad: does not work at all on consoles.
Armistice: does not work at all on consoles.
Pinning Shot: the pin rate is much lower than the advertised 80%. The upgrade is bugged and will not disorient.
Unity: only the stamina regeneration works. It doesn't apply sustained abilities to the party as advertised.

Which blows because I play off-line and was thinking about getting this game, but I'm not now since I read this thread.

Believe it or not, I think Awakenings is one of the best DLCs, especially since it's the only one that seems to build on what happened in Origins, and actually forces you to make choices once in a while. Golems is the worst (boring dungeon crawl with random NPCs), and Witch's Wake isn't much better.

Leliana's Song is pretty good, especially as a prequel.

Haven't played Darkspawn yet.

The Darkspawn one is terrible, and glitchy as hell too.

I agree that Awakenings is great, though. I really enjoyed the story and seeing where you go after the Blight. Just wish it was a bit longer and didn't end so abruptly.

I had a major dilemma with what to do with the Architect tho.

A) Im a warden, hes a darkspawn, so surely he needs to die.

B) Let him live, and the possibility of never having a blight for a long time is too hard to pass up.

I ended up letting him live, as im sure it will have some nice consequences in DA2.

The only bugs I'm getting in DA2 is not getting credit for some of my achievements. I've been gipped on the Rival and 4 Friends/Rivals ones.

Just finished DA2. Remember happy go lucky Anders from Awakening? Yeah, he DEFINITELY isn't like that anymore. I think they went out of their way to make sure that you feel like a dick no matter how you handle his....situation.

Probably just about to get to that. I just finished Merrill's story... oops.

Seems like everyone is fucked no matter what you do.

This doesnt feel very Dragon Age like. Im wandering around Kirkwall fighting X mercinaries to get coin to join a Deep Road expedition. If i wanted to grind id play a final fantasy.

When did the Dailish become Irish?

fwiw - there is a way to do it w/o getting the coin, but that won't reveal itself til a little later in the act. Besides, you shouldn't need to grind the town mobs, there are tons of sidequests that should net you enough gold and then some.

I've felt that way playing the entire game so far and I think I'm about half way through it. I'm not even sure what the big threat is yet. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with that one big guy (I forget his name) but I can't figure out why. At least with Dragon Age Origins it was pretty clear what the huge threat was you knew what you were fighting for. With Dragon Age 2 it just seems you do a lot of the side quests to earn money and eventually they'll be a big fight.

There is no doubt this game is not nearly as epic as Origins. You aren't saving the world. Just a dude making his way and gaining a little influence along the way.

The greater story reveals itself only at the end of the 2nd act, although it's hinted all along. I admit, I'm only half way through the 3rd act and I have NO IDEA what the final battle/ending is going to be.

I grew impatient with what the hell the plot was, and upon google ive summed it up as.

Anders unleashes hell on Kirkwall destroying it by taking down the chantry, then you much choose to defect the army of blood mages, or the templars, loosing some of your party depending on the choice you make to save the city.

Not very good imo.

Nah, the story is amazing. It's just too short. I loved how you're just Hawke trying to reclaim his place in life and all of these events weave their way around him. It's epic in it's own right, on a small scale. The "big bad" for the end is actually really awesome when it happens, too. You shouldn't have ruined the surprised for yourself. A google search summary is nothing compared to seeing it happen and not knowing it's coming.
