It's paid. For some reason I got all of it. I have no idea if it's worth it or not.

Hm, I got the Emporium for free. I'm assuming that's the DLC in question. *checks* Okay, it isn't and I don't have it. :( Aw... I need to buy it on my own then.

Apparently there's a bunch of free items as well which I missed out on! Huzzah! I like free! Besides, I'll probably be need like 3 or so weeks at the rate I'm playing DAO before I get to DAK.

So the Dalish Female was in fact one if you start DAK, eh? Considering that was based on things people had pieced together over the entire series and the comic series, that's probably the answer then.

Though, I dislike the idea of the Warden being dead. Especially with Witch Hunt. Tweaking time!

Wow. This origin was a lot more fun than I remembered. It also made me think of something. Each game gives you a character who isn't what the masses of the particular area the game takes place in would want as their hero. For Ferelden that would be the Dalish Elf, as they rarely get involved. For Kirkwall, that is a human (blood?) joking mage who takes charge. For Maker believing Orlais, this seems to suggest a Qunari (different religion) and since the Qunari mages are treated as badly, yet another mage.

Forgot how engaging the companions are in DAO. Damn. I think I started so many times over simply because it was like visiting old friends. Now that I am commited to this origin, I can't wait for the rest of the cast and people I haven't met yet.

Oh, and question. Was Morrigan always so easy to get plus points for? I had a harder time wooing Alistair than her. And yes I've barely started and got them in my pockets. Hurray power gifts! Seriously though, I fucked up my romancing Alistair by calling him a goof during the whole commitment thing and nearly had leave. :( I was trying to be funny! That makes it worse. I need him romanced for my plans.

Well, remember that if something doesn't go right in your DA:O playthrough, it doesn't really matter because you enter the choices for DA:I in the Keep manually sans import anyway. But I get it.

Morrigan was super easy to get in a favorable relationship. She likes when you're a dick and doesn't get very pissed when you're not. I never found any of the characters that tricky to manage in the first game, except Sten.

Wait, it only imports your choices? Boo! I made my Lyna so I could see her in DAI! ...yeah? Fully aware you don't get to see her. Just wish you could.

It isn't so much the difficulty as there are just a few options that if I picked them, I royally fuck up the feelings towards me. And Sten is a problem, but I'm going to attempt being brief and see how that works.

Okay! So, I did the Tower of Ishal and Broken Circle after all the DLC. Forgot the game scales to your level, so I'm either 1) entirely unprepared, 2) built my character entirely wrong, 3) just really really suck at being a rogue, or 4) did all the previous and now need to restart as nothing I'm doing works.

Beginning to think it is that last one, because oh boy. Deaths are not only frequent, they are plentiful.

Dual wielding rogue with the abilities that prevent flanking and increase attack speed is beast, probably the best character in the game. You should be putting just about all your stats into dex and cunning, though, and not trying to diversify down the archery tree at all.

Also, I remember Broken Circle being crazy hard no matter what. Good tactics are essential to surviving (basically, getting Alistair to taunt endlessly and have Morrigan or Wynne or both healing and buffing him while you backstab everybody).

Okay, so that's exactly how I'm leveling her points wise. So it likely isn't that, which is good to know.

However, where I'm struggling is actually not the Tower portion, but rather the Fade where you end up by yourself. I guess I should have clarified that. The mages keep rocking me badly. I try picking them off one at a time, but I eventually get overwhelmed. Though I will admit the Tower portion wasn't easy either.

Is there someplace I could level up a bit more? I know you can pick up quests at Lothering, but that probably only adds quests after each chapter, right?

If I remember correctly, I got through as a DW rogue while leaning heavily on whatever shapeshift form it was that had Crushing Prison. Lots of backstabbing and using the stealthy rat, too.

You mean sneak? I've been trying that, but I keep getting spotted. Haven't done it via the rat, so maybe I'll give that a go.

Crushing Prison I believe is a mage skill actually.

Oh that's what you meant. Okay, yeah, I am using those. Though maybe not as well as I should have. I'll try playing with them and see how that works out.

IIRC I smashed through most of that as the Golem. Definitely play as yourself as little as possible.

Ah, I fought as mostly Lyna. Thanks for the tip, I'll use the forms more.

Also, I've noticed that the Dalish Elf has a lot more varied responses than the other origins I had played up to where I'm at when I played on the PS3. Back when I had the PS3 version that is. The other two I had played where the two human paths, so maybe that might have something to do with it, but still. Lots more variety.

So, I decided to say "screw it" and play Inquisition. So went about making my choices in Dragon's Keep and then watched the Tapestry to remind myself of events and see if I wanted to change things. When it got to the very end and just before the prologue for Inquisition, it had both of the heroes of the previous games back to back.

Except the heroes were not the ones I picked. It showed the Dalish Female and Marian Hawke. Tried it twice with two different selections, still showed those two. Anyone else get someone different than those two?

You have to actually promote your in-game world inside the Keep. Just making the selections isn't enough. Click Export to DA:I when you're finished. Made that mistake the first time through also.

No, not the game. On Dragon's Keep, you can watch the Tapestry and see summaries of what happened for DAO and DAK. When you get to the end of it of the summaries, it'll show a prologue for Inquisition. Though I guess a prologue of the prologue to the game? Nah, back story would probably be better.

Anyways, when I got to the very end of the Tapestry video, it showcased the heroes as other than my selections at the time. I repeated that, and still ended up Female Dalish Origin and Warrior Marian Hawke. I was wondering if someone else ended up with something different on the Tapestry.

I couldn't figure out what to play, so did a random choose thing and ended up with Dalish Mage for Inquisition. I'm hoping this goes well, but I have a feeling it'll backfire. She seems kinda squishie.

I think she's just in your party for a bit. What I heard is she isn't supposed to be a companion.

Someone spoiled it for me, but I'm guessing you rode, eh?

I'm so frustrated with my current game (dying a lot) that I'm thinking of restarting and playing mage. Think I flubbed up somewhere.

Also, fuck dragons.

I fucked Cassandra actually. Saw the bull online. Makes inquisitor a power bottom.

This game is a little to politically correct.

I'm level 17 and sti haven't killed a dragon. The Mage AI just sprints to the fucking dragons mouth and get slaughtered. Not worth it.

I killed the Hinterlands dragon legit. Died several times but tweaked my strategy and gear and finally got it. I think I was level 13-ish. Then I turned my mage into a Knight Enchanter and practically solo'd the Storm Coast dragon, and then actually did solo another dragon (Emerald Greaves I think). So yeah Knight Enchanter is just a wee bit over powered.

If you have a support mage (barrier and spirit maxed) and Blackwall, you should crush every dragon.

I didn't learn this until after the fact that I spread out my points and built my characters entirely wrong. Oh well. Things like that happen I suppose. Guess I'll restart from scratch.

And I can't believe I forgot to post this like six hours ago. Oops.

You can buy an item that lets you re-allocate your points. It's down in the undercroft or whatever they call that place.

Got any idea how much it would cost after that? I need to buy everyone one. I'm assuming it scales.
