Anyone else get the early access demo? 4:45 left in my 6 hours and I just hit open world.

My 6 hours is up. I'm in love with single player. It's like Origins. There's so much to do, I feel like after 5.5 hours I haven't even scratched the surface. I did one match in multiplayer. I can't really give an opinion... we wiped pretty early. Was a little lame for the brief time I played but would give it another chance. It's set up similarly to ME3 multi... start with a race or two and need to unlock everything.

I can easily see me sinking 200 hours in to this game. I rolled Qunari so I'm guessing I'll do a second playthrough with a different race/class. That 6 hours went way, way, way too fast.

I may revert to my original origins character.

She ra was a human noble who was going to fuck anything that baw God moved. Tho I may make her a blood Mage if that's possible. The archane warrior specialisation was game breaking in 1. I loved that class

Sabre, considering you can make it so that your original character lived (via Morrigan's spell), you probably don't want to do that. Make one similar and have her be the long lost bastard child (sibling) of the house?

We've already seen Hawke show up in the trailer, so I wouldn't doubt that the character you picked from Dragon Age Origins will show up. Though if you don't have the files uploaded to Dragon Age Keep, it'll probably go with a generic look for that character.

Glad to hear that people are enjoying the game and that it is more like Origins. I loved Origins, Kirkwall, not so much.

Oh, I figured most people took the baby making option with Morrigan to keep him/her alive. My bad.

How's everyone's quest going?

I'm up to 8 party members and I'm really wishing I rolled a mage so I could have both Blackwall and Iron Bull in my party at all times, but such is life. Been mostly romping around the Hinderlands but did go to the Forbidden Oasis and get immediately wrecked, so I left there quickly. Also briefly visited the Storm Coast to get Iron Bull.

I did come across a dragon while out and about and got immediately killed without it even landing to fight me (just fire from the fly-by) so it's good to know that you need to be a beast to even try them. Not like Skyrim.

Game is phenomenal. And most of the reviews say it really picks up after the first 10-15 hours. That's awesome cause I love it already and I haven't gotten to that moment yet.

I haven't picked it up yet. Still deciding between a mage and warrior build.

I only really played the intro last night but I like what I see so far. It is kind of janky, especially during conversation/cutscenes - but then, most BioWare games are, so I've come to expect that. I also encountered the glitch where there is no UI for a given conversation.. thankfully I had saved right before.

Doing a ton of the side quests in the Hinterlands as I can with the original 3 guys and having a decent time. Made myself a pretty nasty Raider Axe I, of course, called "Da Choppa". I guess I'll go ahead and advance the storyline a bit the next time I get on.

I got to the point the reviews talk about where the game changes and the scope gets different. Wow. It was so epic. I fist pumped a few times during the cut scene.

Also only part I haven't cared for so far is the American and British voice actors are both just ok for human. I went with American. Everything else is great

Two hours in and I think I'm going to start over, only because my character is a pretty boy prince charming look alike that is kind of a tool. Probably will stick with two handed warrior although may go sword and shield.

What is with the war table? I don't understand the point of it. Does it make a difference which of the three you choose?

It will make way more sense when you get further in to the game. You send all three of your advisors on timed missions that bring back rewards, influence, and assorted other things. You also open up new map areas there and new main quests.

Killed the Fereldan Frostback dragon that hangs out right your one camp in the Hinderlands. Man, it felt like such an accomplishment. Came down to just me, no potions, and I was able to take out the last 2000 health (out of about 96,000) by myself.

Tons and tons of purple loot. Yes!

What level when you took out the dragon?

Also I can't find any good loot/weapons. Usually killing guys you'll just add up junk and sell it but that doesn't seem to be happening.

I was level 12. Dragon was level 12. I ran in to a level 13 dragon in Crestwood and get wrecked so bad it wasn't even funny.

The best advice I've been given is don't spend a ton of time trying to immediately clear everything in the Hinterlands (first map) and that it's best to move to the next map (Storm Coast) once it's open to continue the story a bit, this ensures you're not over-leveled as you progress through the story. Plus there are a lot of quests in the Hinterlands that have unique companion interactions (with companions you wouldn't have until you leave the Hinterlands).

I finally unlocked all of the DLC mounts, as well. The big Elk is amazing. I feel like Cold Hands!

This game is also astoundingly beautiful. I haven't felt this in awe of a game and it's scenery since Skyrim launched in 2011. Some of the shit I've come across, too.. just the random encounters, are great. I found a dragon fighting a giant, with a bunch of bandits trying to fight both of them at the same time.

Oh, and speaking of companions. They're so well done. Iron Bull and Sera are my favourites. Listening to them argue over "stealing kills" never gets old. :)

Sera in general is hilarious. She and Iron Bull discussing the merits of him throwing her over their enemies for flanking purposes and debating the merits of the Chantry's symbol with Cassandra are awesome to listen to. I don't even like using my mounts, I'd rather run around listening to my teammates bitch at each other.

True say about the mounts - it's a shame they didn't develop it so that each of your companions got a mount too so that you don't miss out on the conversations.

..and holy shit, who would have thought Freddie Prinze Jr would be voicing the most interesting character in this game (and doing a damn good job of it) after the awfulness of James Vega (ME3).

Yeah I cleared hinterlands as far as I could before moving on to the next map. Slightly overpowered is an understatement.

Just took out my first dragon. Hinterlands, level 11 party of me (sword/board), Iron Bull, Sear, and Vivienne. Sera didn't do much damage to the dragon, although she did help keep the adds off of me and Bull while we tanked it. Still a close thing though. Nearly had me a couple of times. Thank goodness you can revive in battle.

Any of you guys playing this on last-gen? I desperately want to play it but I have a sizable backlog of 360/PS3 games to finish, and I know I'll never go back to them if I go buy a next-gen system. I haven't seen any reviews of how it plays on 360/PS3, but it definitely strikes me as the kind of massive experience that ought to wait for the upgrade, so I'll probably just sit it out till…April, maybe? I think I can get through by then.

Wandering around Crestwood and found the "Wheel of Destiny" shield. Weird shield, but decent enough stats for my off-tank. Won't spoil it, but keep a look out for an out of the way picnic setup and look around.
