At this point, I think assuming that a rapper needs to come across as authentically "nigga" to have artistic credibility is about as valid as saying that anyone who plays guitar needs to do heroin to be taken seriously.

I mostly just liked the image of Drake putting lotion on ladies' hands at the mall.

I read an interview with the creator of the blog wherein he had a million different excuses for why his famous cousin was so shrouded in mystery. His name isn't really Bennett, and his girlfriend's real name isn't whatever they call her, and he doesn't really work at Amoco, and he lives in a poor town with no internet, and his mom's on disability so why don't you leave her alone! Until I see concrete proof of this young wigger's existence, I will assume he is a fabrication not unlike Jan Brady's boyfriend George Glass.

Drake is the premier lyricist in hip hop today. I mean this level of braggadocio hasn't been seen since LL Cool J.

Drake is the new LL Cool J.

Common is like the original Drake. I've hated that cocksucker since the Westside Connection feud.

Clearly, a white guy who wears things like a Marvin the Martian hoodie "gets rap music."

Jay Z dissed Drake on Jay Electronica's latest track "We Made It," attacking the younger emcee for calling his art references "corny" in a previous interview. The Roc Nation label head and signed artist collaborated over track originally belonging to Soulja Boy to create a song with Five Percenter themes and long, introspective lyrics.

Jay Z's Drake diss came near the beginning of his verse where he slammed Drake as "Mrs. Drizzy," purposefully disrespecting him by not mentioning his name.

"Sorry Mrs. Drizzy for so much art talk, silly me rappin' 'bout s--- that I really bought / While these rappers rap about guns they ain't shot, and a bunch of other silly s--- that they ain't got," Jigga rhymed.

Jay may have also taken a subliminal shot at the "Started From the Bottom" rapper later on in the verse, rapping: "N---- watch your tone / I come to court with black boxers on / Y'all hella jealous of my melatonin, I could black out at any given moment."

The feud began in February, when the Young Money rapper spoke about Jay Z in a Rolling Stone interview. Drake said that the older rapper's near-constant references to art in his Magna Carta Holy Grail album was "corny."

I hate bumping old topics, but this other than the Raptors this is Toronto's best contribution to American pop culture.

I may be getting soft since I've reached my 30s but I like VIEWS a lot.
