I voted two weeks ago. I actually feel better about local elections going blue than our state (NC) going for Harris, but maybe that's because we've inexplicably voted blue for the past two governor terms while going red for president. I'd like to think we'd go blue this time around, but who knows. Nationally, I'm hopefully optimistic.

Part of my whirlwind move was registering to vote in Minnesota and I did so early as soon as possible, back in September. The congressional seat here is held by a trump toadie so hopefully it flips. I campaigned for his opponent, too. I haven't seen any polling for that race (nor have I looked) but it'd help flip the House.

Will be paying just as close of attention tonight to back home in Wisconsin. Exceedingly important election there. Battleground state for electors (and it was ground zero for fakes last time). Baldwin's US senate seat is on the line against a rich California dipshit and it's gotten close over the last few weeks. My old congressional district could be competitive and I hope that'll prove true. And, after years of work led to flipping the state supreme court and changing the gerrymandered legislature districts, this is the first opportunity to start towards flipping Madison, as well.

Looks like I'm not gonna be voting until the evening. I'm still registered at my old neighborhood (really should change that) and my sister wants me to vote with her after she gets off work (I have off). Lines shouldn't be too bad with early voting out of the way.

I typed my post this morning on my phone, which I hate doing, so a quick addendum. There are extreme candidates at Governor, Lt. Governor, AG, and School Superintendent that should hopefully lose. Whether or not that blue enthusiasm (or lack of red enthusiasm) carries over to the presidential race is still up in the air. Even back when we went blue for Obama we voted a red governor in, so it's a very polarized state politically. However, I think the population increase in the last 4 years favors Dems, so we'll see if that pans out.

I just wanted to respond to what @909 said about polls in the other thread. I don’t think it’s an exact science because how could it be, it is predicting the future. But at least in Canada, they’re usually super accurate for provincial and federal elections.

I will say a big underrated factor is that Kamala is going to get more white voters than any other democratic candidate since the 70s. Which should prove that a lot of people that wanted to dismiss her chances “because white people wont vote for her” were in fact the real racists, using racism as a reason not to let her try.

That's because tbh she ran a more race neutral and a more gender neutral campaign than Clinton and Biden did. Biden especially ran on and kept going with the 'you're a a racist if you don't support me' gimmick and yes he won once, but he wouldn't have won a second time and people got really tired of it. I've heard nothing like that from this campaign.

Obama understood this too. You'll get people to vote for you by not relitigating the problems of our past.

I'm seeing so many contradicting polls that I'm just gonna wait until the polls close for my coverage.

Half of them say Trump in a landslide while the others say Kamala in a landslide so who the fuck knows.

Just left my voting poll. Bit of a wait since I went when everyone was getting off work but was in and out in less than 30 minutes.

Now the wait.

Voted at 645 am. Waited about 25 minutes. Pretty good under 30 turnout. I guess my county goes blue, which is probably one of 8-10 in Ohio. I was excited to see the enthusiasm.

My pick going into today was Kamala getting 294 or 283 depending on Arizona. We'll see how it goes!

Trump leading in Georgia which isn't great but Kamala is leading in Ohio, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

Spoke too soon I suppose so now I'm midly worried. Anything can happen but don't love what I'm seeing in Georgia and Virginia right now.

She's way underperforming with Latino men. I'm not at all confident. The numbers aren't there. Biden won by 450K in Philly in 2020. She's only on pace to win by 390K. That alone is a dagger.

“Hey, let’s parade Liz Cheney around, continue failing to win over conservatives and drop the shit that was working in our favor for standard issue Hillary and Biden style neoliberal bullshit. Surely this will work”

The Democrats deserve this. They will never learn.

It's not looking good and I'm feeling terrible for girls and women and everyone who looks different, lives different, just wants to live their lives but don't have the cold comfort of privilege.
