I don't think I have the patience to play "Do you feel like we do". I barely made it through Superstition on expert the other day. That was intense.

How the fuck is drinking any better or worse than playing Rockband?

"Stop playing Rockband, you could be getting drunk! Woooo!"

Come on.
I didn't say that at all eric, you fucking twit. I just don't get the appeal of a bunch of people mashing on plastic guitars and drums while staring at a TV screen to hit synchronized notes to be a social thing in the slightest. Furthermore, alcohol is a social lubricant- there's a good reason there's alcohol served in most if not nearly all social settings.

I thought the drinking and playing Rock Band went hand in hand. I've been doing both at parties since the very first Guitar Hero game. And how the heck is ping pong any more social an activity than RB/GH?
Simple. With ping pong you are interacting with a human being on the other end of the table. It's like playing video games or watching movies or whatever. It's not that social. You are not facing another person or talking with them all that much- if you're playing poker or whatever, you're talking and interacting with people.

I'm not knocking the game here (although I'm burned out on it some) but it's purpose as a social activity is very limited. I've seen far too many parties disintegrate into a bunch of people staring at the screen to a Chili Peppers song for the umpteenth time to dispute that.

I don't know if it's just me, but when friends come over & play on GH games we actually talk quite a lot and have a good laugh. More so than playing ping pong at least.

I just found out Band Hero not only has Jesse McCartney "Beautiful Soul" and Hilary Duff "So Yesterday". Day one purchase now. I do enjoy my cheesy pop music and it seems like there is a lot on the Band Hero track list.

I was in Best Buy the other day. I find it kind of impressive, and sad all at the same time, that they have a full aisle, front and back, just for guitar games and controllers. There are WAY too many of these things at the moment.

This Sunday is apparently DJ Hero Demo Day..all Gamestops should have a demo kit of DJ Hero to play while the TVs in the store will be showing nothing but DJ Hero tips and playing music from the game.

TTFATF on GH:3 and I can still only hit 79% of the notes on medium. I love this damn game sometimes.

I'll have to check out DJ Hero on Sunday. I loved Beatmania, and this looks like it'll be fun in the same kind of way, maybe without being so ridiculously impossibly hard. I like the tracklist, too, although I would have liked a little more techno/trance.

Finished GH5 today... first GH I played all the way through since GH3. The ending song wasn't even in the same ballpark as THFAF.

I thought with WT they went a different way. Dream Theatre's Pull Me Under.. I love that song since I played it.

Kiss 3-song Track Pack for GH5 coming on November 19th. No songs confirmed yet but here's hoping for "Black Diamond", "Love Gun" and "I Stole Your Love." I'd love "Detroit Rock City" but it seems unlikely since it's already available on Rock Band.

Has anyone tried the DJ Hero demo in a store yet? Just curious how it is. I have it pre-ordered because I got the "Renegade Edition" for the same price as the regular edition but I have no idea if its going to be something I will like or not.

On what level? I'm playing on expert and the end of American Girl kicked my ass.

I played the DJ Hero demo at Gamestop last weekend. I thought it fucking sucked, but that's just my opinion. The buttons on this particular turntable had no texture, so when I had to hold a button and scratch, my fingers would always slip off. One of the employees asked what I thought, and I said it was a neat idean but the controller was crap. She said pretty much everyone who tried it said the same thing.

Thanks Haws. I still got some time to decide if I should cancel my order or not. I was wondering how the turntable would work and it seems my doubts may be confirmed from what you are saying.

Rock Band has a knack to release DLC's to mess with GH5's DLC's so that may be a possibility for RB2.

At the local best buy the DJ Hero demo setup is pretty nice, the game looks fun.

I dunno what is wrong with GH 5, but the drums seem very off to me. At first I thought the batteries were dying but I popped world tour in and everything was perfectly fine. Is it possible I didn't do the synching thing right? When you go to do the calibration do you have to keep going and going and going until it tells you everything is calibrated, or do you just hit the drum pads for a few sets and then it is ok?

Try calibrating with a different controller, and see how that works. I seem to remember getting some wild numbers calibrating Rock Band 2 with my RB1 drums when I first got it, then seemingly getting it more right with a guitar or regular controller. When I got the RB2 Strat, I just let it do its auto-calibration thing. But I don't think that helps much on the Guitar Hero side.

I tried the DJ Hero demo at Best Buy. I was absolutely horrible at it. I thought I was scratching as I was supposed to, but I clearly wasn't. I think I missed every note. I probably won't ever play this.
