How the fuck is drinking any better or worse than playing Rockband?
"Stop playing Rockband, you could be getting drunk! Woooo!"
Come on.
I didn't say that at all eric, you fucking twit. I just don't get the appeal of a bunch of people mashing on plastic guitars and drums while staring at a TV screen to hit synchronized notes to be a social thing
in the slightest. Furthermore, alcohol is a social lubricant- there's a good reason there's alcohol served in most if not nearly all social settings.

I thought the drinking and playing Rock Band went hand in hand. I've been doing both at parties since the very first Guitar Hero game. And how the heck is ping pong any more social an activity than RB/GH?
Simple. With ping pong you are interacting with a human being on the other end of the table. It's like playing video games or watching movies or whatever. It's not that social. You are not facing another person or talking with them all that much- if you're playing poker or whatever, you're talking and interacting with people.
I'm not knocking the game here (although I'm burned out on it some) but it's purpose as a social activity is very limited. I've seen far too many parties disintegrate into a bunch of people staring at the screen to a Chili Peppers song for the umpteenth time to dispute that.
