Manifesto is supposedly out:
“To the Feds, I’ll keep this short, because I do respect what you do for our country. To save you a lengthy investigation, I state plainly that I wasn’t working with anyone,” Mangione wrote.
“This was fairly trivial: some elementary social engineering, basic CAD, a lot of patience. The spiral notebook, if present, has some straggling notes and To Do lists that illuminate the gist of it. My tech is pretty locked down because I work in engineering so probably not much info there,” he wrote.
“I do apologize for any strife of traumas but it had to be done,” Mangione wrote. “Frankly, these parasites simply had it coming.
“A reminder: the US has the #1 most expensive healthcare system in the world, yet we rank roughly #42 in life expectancy. United is the [indecipherable] largest company in the US by market cap, behind only Apple, Google, Walmart. It has grown and grown, but [h]as our life expectancy? No the reality is, these [indecipherable] have simply gotten too powerful, and they continue to abuse our country for immense profit because the American public has allowed them to get away with it,” he wrote.
“Obviously the problem is more complex, but I do not have space, and frankly I do not pretend to be the most qualified person to lay out the full argument. But many have illuminated the corruption and greed (e.g.: Rosenthal, Moore), decades ago and the problems simply remain,” Mangione wrote.

Calling this a manifesto feels like an exaggeration tbh. We get longer posts than this complaining about things pretty regularly. Still he turned words into action so there ya go.

So I know this girl and have had some pretty substantial run ins with her over the last couple of years, including her "jokingly" saying she'd stab me. She also thinks she is part cat and is banned from basically every bar in the city for being a nujob. Kept finding me on dating apps for a while. By far the most dangerous person I have made fun of to their face.

So are all the strippers vegan, does their makeup have to be cruelty-free, does the DJ play Morrissey, what’s the deal.

I asked that very question when I went. It's mostly the vegan food and not having animal products in your outfits. The performers i know who have worked there are just vegans for show.

Place looks like if someone without spacial awareness tried to draw the bar from From Dusk Til Dawn by memory.

That’s just the lib media trying to stir the pot, it’s all a bunch of nothing. “Social media posts” yeah that’s really representative of the people that actually vote.

Meanwhile there was barely any press about how AOC couldn’t even get voted into a committee position and lost to a 70 year old dude with cancer. She is supposed to represent the future of the party, and she’s getting cut off at the knees by the old guard. The Dems have way more infighting problems that will actually harm their future electoral prospects. They’ve literally learned nothing from 2016 or 2024. Keep going with that 90s neoliberal strategy and see where it gets you.

A half dozen of trump's current and former top advisors engaging in an ugly public fight has absolutely nothing to do with the liberal media. Musk has been suspending, demonetizing, etc. the accounts of right-wing people who disagree with him.

The point is the ideological core of MAGA is showing signs of splintering over immigration. The Dems obviously have serious basic issues but there are also serious issues right at the core of the current Republican party as well that have been papered over by the existence of Trump.

Ninety-seven percent of Republicans approve of Trump’s handling of his transition, which is more than 10 percentage points higher than in December 2016, when 86 percent approved, the poll found.

Sorry my friend, i just don’t see it.

Right but this isn't about either the transition or the perception by the general public. It's about an ideological split at the top of the party that will have long term consequences.

A man intentionally drove a pickup truck into a crowd of revelers on Bourbon Street in New Orleans' French Quarter early on New Year's Day, killing 10 people and injuring dozens of others, officials said. The FBI said the driver was killed in a firefight with police.

New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick said the man drove around barricades and hurtled down Bourbon Street in "very intentional behavior" before opening fire on officers. Mayor LaToya Cantrell referred to it as a likely "terrorist attack," and the FBI said in a news release that they are investigating it "as an act of terrorism."

The driver died after exchanging gunfire with responding police officers, the FBI said. The suspect was struck by police fire and declared dead at the scene, the New Orleans Police Department said.

"This man was trying to run over as many people as he could," said Kirkpatrick, adding that two police officers were hit by gunfire but were in a stable condition. A long gun was recovered from the scene, law enforcement sources told CBS News. The long gun had a "suppressive device" on it that acted as a silencer, according to sources on the scene. Two sources familiar with the investigation told CBS News the suspect was wearing body armor. Potential explosive devices recovered at or near the scene are also being analyzed, the sources said.

Investigators are probing whether the suspect was connected to or inspired by a foreign terror organization, law enforcement and city official sources told CBS News.

The truck appeared to be flying a large black flag from its rear bumper, according to a CBS News review of images of the vehicle. Law enforcement sources told CBS News that investigators are probing whether or not the flag is an ISIS flag or if it is tied to another foreign terror organization. It remains unclear if the suspect was acting alone or with others. A person familiar with the investigation told CBS News that at this point, neither ISIS nor any other foreign terror organization has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Just awful. For all of the crime that happens in New Orleans, Bourbon is generally safe from violence. It has shady aspects but there's literally a trooper everywhere you look. You're more likely to catch a violent attack on a parallel street. This is just horrible. Generally speaking, too, 3am on a holiday right before the Sugar Bowl means a high concentration of tourists were likely affected by this tragedy.

The people in the service industry planning for a big work day today have been posting in solidarity about the lost income for French Quarter workers and there's parts of my brain wanting to ask them to read the room but also recognize they have to pay rent etc... so it's a valid fear for them.

And of course it's nigh impossible to follow updates without encountering some right wing racist bullshit.
