I’ve been ready for the Tigers to get Cabrera’s contract off the books for a while now, but admittedly I’m getting a little choked up at his send off. Bummer day going 0-3 at the plate. But moving him from DH to 1st for the 8th inning, then to record the first out himself, then get taken out of the game with all the celebration. It’s really nice.

Over the last five seasons the Tigers are 29th in OPS from the DH spot. Just replacing Cabrera in the lineup is going to accelerate their recovery. But at his best he was awfully fun to watch.
