NBA 2025-26

There's a ton of skilled players and Wembys career will be amazing to follow. I just meant the lack of someone with a huge personality like how Shaq or Michael or LeBron or Chuck were everywhere and were usually memorable or entertaining in some way. Most of the big stars now are from different countries too. Theres not that huge American megastar in basketball at the moment imo.

This gets me too. When I was a kid it was so frowned upon to put your hands on a ref or coach like that. Now it seems pretty accepted.
 
I was bored and it's All-Star break, so I decided to take a stab at own version of a "win share." Basically took a player's cumulative game score from wins only and compared it as a percentage to the player's team's cumulative game score and converted that to wins. Theoretically, you could add up all players win shares on a particular team and it would (roughly) equal that team's win total. Anyway, I feel like it is a pretty good metric for MVP as it is a way of showing a player's contribution towards their team's record. Here are the top 15:

How deep of a dive did you do as in how many players? Was your formula something that could easily be put into the Stathead engine or was it a lot of longform work?

Julius Randle being the Minnesota rep on this list and not Anthony Edwards was the first thing to catch my eye.

Mostly longhand, as I don't think stathead has a way to filter only wins (but then again, I don't subscribe to Stathead anymore).

Randle I think made it higher than Edwards because he has played 10 more games and the team's success apparently didn't drop off when Edwards was out.
 
Upon Chris Paul's induction into the Hall he will become the first player in the history of the New Orleans Pelicans franchise to have been inducted. They are the only franchise without one.
